Along the way, enjoy close-up views of Ama Dablam, towering above with its magnificent north face. Enter the Imja Valley, where you can observe glaciers and the confluence of the Lobuche River. After crossing the valley, a steep ascent brings you to Dingboche, followed by a short trek to Pheriche, a peaceful settlement surrounded by dramatic Himalayan peaks. Upon arrival, settle into your teahouse and take in the breathtaking sunset over the mountains, preparing your body for the next day’s important acclimatization.
Most guests fly into Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Share arrival times after booking so a transfer to Thamel can be arranged, or make your own way to the meeting hotel in the Thamel area.
Pre-trek briefings usually take place in Kathmandu one to two days before the Lukla flight. Allow extra days after the trek in case mountain flights are postponed by weather.
Twin or double rooms in Kathmandu provide a comfortable stay before and after your Lobuche East Peak Climbing expedition, usually with a private bathroom and breakfast. These nights are ideal for your climbing briefing, permit checks, gear preparation, and rest before the flight to Lukla.
Along the trail, family-run teahouses and mountain lodges provide accommodation in Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche. Rooms generally have twin beds and basic furnishings, with shared bathrooms common at higher elevations. As you approach Lobuche East Base Camp and High Camp, accommodation becomes more basic, with tented camping arranged for the climbing section according to the itinerary. Heating is generally limited to dining areas, and hot showers, Wi-Fi, and device charging may cost extra where available. A warm sleeping bag suitable for high-altitude conditions is essential for comfortable nights in the mountains.
