Cornwall is a perfect destination for those looking to explore its coastline from the water, and kayaking is one of the best ways to do so. Whether you're navigating the sheltered beaches or paddling through the Camel Estuary, this activity offers a mix of adventure and relaxation. Our guides will ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience, with no prior kayaking experience needed.
On the Low Tide session, the adventure begins at Dinham Farm, where you'll be provided with all the necessary gear. After a brief lesson on the beach, you'll head to Porthilly Cove to start your kayaking journey. With the tide behind you, you'll glide down the river, making stops along the way, and enjoy the sights of the famous Doombar. As the tide changes, you'll gently paddle back upstream to Porthilly Cove.
The A to B session offers a slightly different experience, with the option to either stroll to Dinham Creek or take the big blue bus to Porthilly Cove. Using either the incoming or outgoing tide, you'll kayak along the middle stretch of the Camel Estuary, passing the old Penquean slate quarry. Along the way, you might spot swans, geese, oyster catchers, and even the occasional diving shag or cormorant. Once the session concludes, you’ll either walk or catch the bus back to Dinham Farm.
The tours take place along the Camel Estuary, with sessions starting at Dinham Farm. This area offers a unique combination of peaceful beaches, wildlife, and tidal waters, making it an ideal spot for both beginners and more experienced kayakers.
Porthilly Cove is where the kayaking journey begins, providing the perfect setting for an adventure on the water.
No prior kayaking experience is required for these tours, making them suitable for all levels of ability. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended as some paddling can be physically demanding. You’ll need to be comfortable with spending time in and around the water.
The guides have a wealth of knowledge and experience, ensuring that all participants feel safe and supported throughout the session. They will offer instruction on the essential kayaking techniques, making sure everyone feels confident before heading out onto the water.
Whether you're a solo adventurer, part of a family, or a group of friends, these tours offer a fantastic opportunity to explore Cornwall’s coastline. With a focus on fun and environmental education, you'll get the most out of your kayaking experience while enjoying the local wildlife and natural beauty.
