Cornwall is a perfect destination for those looking to explore its coastline from the water, and kayaking is one of the best ways to do so. Whether you're navigating the sheltered beaches or paddling through the Camel Estuary, this activity offers a mix of adventure and relaxation. Our guides will ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience, with no prior kayaking experience needed. Key Details Duration : 3 hours Location : Camel Estuary, Cornwall Group Size : 1-12 people Age Requirement : 8+ What to bring : Swimwear, towels, warm clothes, and sun cream (weather permitting) What to Expect On the Low Tide session, the adventure begins at Dinham Farm, where you'll be provided with all the necessary gear. After a brief lesson on the beach, you'll head to Porthilly Cove to start your kayaking journey. With the tide behind you, you'll glide down the river, making stops along the way, and enjoy the sights of the famous Doombar. As the tide changes, you'll gently paddle back upstream to Porthilly Cove. The A to B session offers a slightly different experience, with the option to either stroll to Dinham Creek or take the big blue bus to Porthilly Cove. Using either the incoming or outgoing tide, you'll kayak along the middle stretch of the Camel Estuary, passing the old Penquean slate quarry. Along the way, you might spot swans, geese, oyster catchers, and even the occasional diving shag or cormorant. Once the session concludes, you’ll either walk or catch the bus back to Dinham Farm. Location The tours take place along the Camel Estuary, with sessions starting at Dinham Farm. This area offers a unique combination of peaceful beaches, wildlife, and tidal waters, making it an ideal spot for both beginners and more experienced kayakers. Porthilly Cove is where the kayaking journey begins, providing the perfect setting for an adventure on the water. ## FAQs

### What are the age limits?

We welcome participants from age 8 and above. Anyone under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. There’s no upper age limit as long as you’re fit and healthy enough to enjoy being in the sea!

### What if it’s raining?

Although sunny days are great, a bit of rain won’t stop the fun! Once you're in the sea, you won’t even notice. Wetsuits help keep you warm, and our sessions are designed to run in most weather conditions, only being cancelled in the most extreme situations.

### What do I need to bring?

Bring swimwear, a towel, and warm, dry clothes for after your session. Suncream is also a good idea—fingers crossed for some sunshine!

### What is the difference between the Low Tide and A to B kayaking sessions?

The Low Tide session begins at Dinham Farm and takes advantage of the outgoing tide to explore the Camel Estuary, making stops along the way before returning upstream using the turn of the tide. In contrast, the A to B session uses the incoming or outgoing tide to explore the middle length of the Estuary, including sights such as the abandoned Penquean slate quarry and local wildlife, before ending at either Dinham Farm or Porthilly Cove.

### How do I choose which session to book?

When selecting your session on the booking form, you’ll be able to choose between the Low Tide session and the A to B session. Availability depends on the tides and your preferred date. The form will let you know if a session is available based on the required tide times for that day, so please keep an eye on the availability calendar.

### Do I need previous kayaking experience to join the tour?

No prior kayaking experience is required for either of the sessions. Our expert guides will provide all the necessary instruction and support, making the tour suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience on the water.

### What happens if the weather conditions change or the session needs to be cancelled?

If weather conditions are unsafe or the tides are not suitable, we will contact you ahead of time to reschedule or offer a refund. Our team monitors conditions closely to ensure everyone’s safety, and we always prioritise your well-being.
