Take to the water and try kayaking along the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast. Perfect for beginners and those looking to build confidence, these sessions combine essential skills with the chance to explore one of Wales’ most scenic national parks from a completely new angle.
Your session begins in St Davids, where our team will get you signed in, kitted out, and ready for the water. From there, we’ll take you to a sheltered harbour – the perfect starting point to gain confidence and learn the basics in a safe environment.
With the Discovery Package, younger paddlers and first-timers get plenty of time to practise launching, landing, turning, and paddling efficiently. Instructors will also guide you through capsize drills, building water confidence step by step while keeping things relaxed and enjoyable.
For the Explorer Package, designed for ages 13+, you’ll cover the same skills but at a slightly quicker pace with an introduction to more challenging conditions. It’s ideal for those comfortable in the water who want to push themselves a little further and gain more awareness of safety at sea.
Whichever option you choose, you’ll enjoy incredible coastal views, spot local wildlife, and experience kayaking as both an adventure and a way to connect with the natural environment.
Our meeting point is right in the centre of St Davids at 20 High Street, SA62 6SD. Once you’ve met your instructor, we’ll provide transport to the sheltered harbour where the session begins.
Set within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, this stretch of coastline is one of the UK’s most spectacular outdoor playgrounds. The area is home to clear waters, sandy bays, dramatic sea cliffs and hidden coves, making it a world-class location for water sports. Kayaking here also gives you the chance to see marine life such as seals, seabirds, and even porpoises if you’re lucky.
The coast’s mix of calm inlets and more open water provides the perfect setting to learn and build confidence. You’ll be surrounded by unspoilt landscapes that combine history, wildlife, and natural beauty – a true highlight of any visit to Wales.
All participants must feel comfortable in the water and sign a waiver before taking part. The Discovery Package is open to beginners aged 8 and above, while the Explorer Package is for confident beginners to intermediates aged 13 and up.
The centre is passionate about creating outdoor experiences that are both fun and meaningful. By combining playful learning with time on the water, participants reconnect with nature and each other.
Set within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, this is one of the cleanest and most vibrant coastal environments in the UK. The team works hard to ensure sessions are sustainable and respectful of the marine environment, so every adventure leaves a positive impact.
The minimum age for the Discovery Package is 8 years old, and for the Explorer Package, it is 13 years old.
These ages are flexible depending on the individual's experience and confidence.

The Discovery Package is open to anyone aged 8 and above and focuses on building confidence in calm conditions. You’ll learn launching, landing, turning, and paddling with time to practise everything at a relaxed pace.
The Explorer Package, suitable for ages 13+, covers the same skills but moves faster and introduces slightly more challenging water conditions. It’s designed for people who are already comfortable in the water and want to progress further while also focusing more on safety at sea.
Not at all. The Discovery Package has been designed specifically with beginners and nervous paddlers in mind. It starts in a sheltered harbour, which gives you a calm and safe environment to learn the basics at a steady pace. Our instructors will guide you through every step, from launching and landing to paddling straight lines.
If you’ve never sat in a kayak before, this session is perfect. The aim is to help you feel comfortable on the water while learning essential skills. For those who are more confident, the Explorer Package builds on these basics and introduces a little more challenge, still with full instructor support.
All participants meet at our centre located at 20 High Street, St Davids, Haverfordwest, SA62 6SD.
From there, we will provide transport to the kayaking location.
We provide all the specialist equipment you’ll need, including kayaks, paddles, and safety gear. You should wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting wet, along with a swimsuit or base layer underneath.
We also recommend bringing a towel and a change of clothes for after the session. On cooler days, synthetic layers work best as they dry quickly and keep you warmer than cotton. Sturdy footwear that can get wet, such as water shoes or old trainers, is also essential.
Yes, absolutely. Safety is our highest priority, and all sessions are led by qualified instructors who are trained to work with both adults and children. The Discovery Package is designed for young paddlers from 8 years old, and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Starting in sheltered waters means children can gain confidence without being overwhelmed. Instructors use a supportive teaching style to make the experience enjoyable, safe, and age-appropriate.
There is always a chance of capsizing when kayaking, but we practise capsize drills in a controlled environment so you’ll know what to do. Instructors will talk you through the process step by step, making sure you feel confident before moving into more open water.
Most people find capsizing a fun part of the session, and it’s an important safety skill. You’ll learn how to safely exit the kayak and get back in again, which is a great way to build confidence.
