Race the UK's longest alpine coaster through Welsh woodland at Betws y Coed. The Fforest Coaster gives you three rides on about 1km of track, with brake levers so you choose how fast to drop through the trees at speeds of up to around 25mph. When you book, choose solo riding or a shared sledge, including the option for one adult with one child under 9.
Check in early for your wristband, then walk to the boarding station for a short safety briefing. Board solo or with a buddy and enjoy the powered climb along about 300m of track while you take in the forest views.
On the descent you take control. Push the levers forward to speed up and pull back to slow as you weave through roughly 700m of woodland track. With three runs included you can settle in on the first ride and push harder later.
Optional cameras can capture a run if you want footage to download. When you finish, you are next to the snack shack and tipi bar for a refuel.
Betws y Coed sits in Eryri (Snowdonia), with the coaster cut through woodland rather than an open fairground layout. The climb and descent are designed to show off the forest setting as much as the speed.
Reception, boarding, snacks and other on-site adventures are close together, so it is a practical base for a North Wales day out.

Ages 9 to 17 need adult supervision at one adult per five children unless an adult is also riding. No prior experience is needed, and you control how bold each descent feels.
