Develop your mountain biking skills and build on your existing knowledge with this specialised coaching session designed to boost your confidence on more technical trails. The focus is on improving core techniques, including hopping, lifting, and cornering, so you can ride with greater speed and control. Led by Steve, a highly experienced British Cycling-certified MTB coach, this course ensures you’ll get the most from your time on the trails.
Over the three-hour session, you'll cover essential techniques to refine your trail riding. The session kicks off with a recap of basic skills before delving into more advanced manoeuvres. You’ll learn how to lift your front wheel with both powered and manual methods, ideal for clearing obstacles or navigating tricky terrain. From there, Steve will guide you through bunny hops and trail hops, ensuring you can smoothly lift both wheels over obstacles.
Next, you’ll tackle step-ups and drop-offs, gaining the confidence to handle more technical sections of a trail. As the session progresses, you’ll sharpen your cornering technique, working on berms, flat turns, and off-camber turns. Steve will also cover energy management, teaching you how to maintain flow on a trail and conserve energy for longer rides. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with improved technique, a deeper understanding of energy use, and the ability to ride faster and with more control.
