Sant Josep de sa Talaia, Illes Balears
Operated by TAKEOFF® Ibiza, a partner of adventuro.

Flying above the water on an electric hydrofoil is one of Ibiza’s most modern watersports experiences, combining balance, control, and smooth gliding across the sea. These guided Fliteboard eFoil lessons take place in the calm waters around Port des Torrent, with personalised instruction suitable for complete beginners as well as returning riders.
The session begins at the activity centre in Sant Josep de Sa Talaia, where guests meet the instructor before travelling together to the riding location at Port des Torrent beach. Before entering the water, participants receive a detailed introduction covering the Fliteboard controls, balance techniques, safety procedures, and communication signals used during the lesson.
Once equipped with safety gear, the instructor guides riders through the first stages of controlling the eFoil on the water. Beginners normally begin by learning stable positioning and throttle control before gradually progressing towards lifting the hydrofoil above the surface. The silent electric motor creates a smooth sensation while gliding across the bay, giving the feeling of flying above the sea rather than riding through it.
Lessons are adapted to suit different experience levels, allowing riders to progress at their own pace while receiving individual feedback throughout the session. Calm conditions around Port des Torrent help create an ideal learning environment, particularly for first-time riders wanting to build confidence on the board.
Port des Torrent is located at the quieter end of San Antonio Bay and is well known for its calm waters and sheltered conditions. The bay provides excellent visibility and smoother sea states, making it one of the most suitable locations in Ibiza for learning watersports activities such as eFoiling.
The surrounding coastline combines clear turquoise water with relaxed beach areas and scenic sea views across the bay. Being slightly away from the busier resort beaches also helps create a more comfortable environment for lessons on the water.
Participants must be at least 18 years old and able to swim confidently. No previous eFoil or hydrofoil experience is required, as the sessions are suitable for complete beginners.
Guests should bring swimwear and a valid passport or ID document for check-in. Following the instructor’s safety guidance throughout the session is essential during all time on the water.
As the first official Fliteboard school in Spain, the centre offers professional instruction using one of the leading eFoil brands available worldwide. Sessions are led by experienced instructors who specialise in teaching balance-based watersports in Ibiza’s coastal conditions.
The combination of personalised coaching, quality equipment, and carefully selected riding locations helps create a safer and more enjoyable learning experience. Smaller group sizes also allow instructors to spend more time guiding each participant individually.
A Fliteboard is an electric hydrofoil surfboard designed to lift above the surface of the water once enough speed is reached. The hydrofoil underneath the board reduces drag, creating a smooth floating sensation while riding.
The board is powered by a silent electric motor controlled using a handheld remote, making it easier to learn compared to traditional foil sports.
No previous hydrofoil or surfing experience is required for the lesson. Sessions are designed for beginners as well as riders wanting to improve their technique.
The instructor explains the controls, balance positioning, and riding techniques before entering the water.
Most participants begin learning the basics within the first part of the session, particularly in calm water conditions. Progress depends on balance, confidence, and previous board sport experience.
The lesson structure allows riders to gradually build up from simple control exercises to lifting above the water.
Port des Torrent offers calmer water and more sheltered conditions compared to some other parts of Ibiza’s coastline.
These smoother conditions help beginners learn balance and control more comfortably during their first eFoil experience.
The activity requires reasonable balance and coordination, although the electric motor does much of the work once moving across the water.
Participants do not need high fitness levels, but they should feel comfortable spending time in the sea and climbing back onto the board during practice.
Guests should bring swimwear, towels, sun cream, and a valid ID or passport for check-in before the session.
Lightweight clothing and water-resistant sun protection are also recommended during warmer weather.
Impact vests and wetsuits are provided as part of the lesson. The instructor also delivers a full safety briefing before entering the water.
Communication signals and emergency procedures are explained clearly before the practical part of the session begins.
