Ready to move beyond a taster session and start learning the core skills of kitesurfing? This beginner course provides a structured introduction to the sport, combining theory, kite control and your first experiences riding with a board. Spread over two or three days, it offers the perfect balance of learning, practice and progression.
Your course begins with a theoretical introduction covering equipment, wind awareness and the essential safety principles used in kitesurfing. You'll learn how to assemble and check your equipment correctly before moving on to practical kite control exercises. Early sessions focus on building confidence with the kite, helping you understand how it generates power and how to control it safely in different positions within the wind window.
Once comfortable flying the kite, you'll progress into the shallow waters of Pollensa Bay where you'll continue refining your control while learning body positioning and movement techniques. The bay's sandy seabed and generally calm conditions create an ideal learning environment, allowing you to focus on developing skills without unnecessary distractions. Throughout the course, you'll work with your own equipment and receive ongoing coaching from a qualified instructor.
As your confidence grows, you'll begin practising water starts with the board. This exciting stage introduces the feeling of combining kite power with board control and marks an important milestone in your progression. By the end of the course, you'll have developed a solid understanding of the sport's fundamentals and gained the skills required to continue progressing independently. Successful participants also receive a VDWS licence recognising their level of training.
Pollensa Bay has earned a reputation as one of the most popular kitesurfing training areas in Mallorca. Moderate winds, shallow water and sandy bottoms create favourable conditions for learning, helping students progress steadily while remaining in a comfortable environment.
Facilities near the teaching area include hot showers, changing rooms, exclusive student spaces, a swimming pool and a sea-facing bar and restaurant. The surrounding area also offers cafés, shops and beaches, making it an enjoyable place to spend time between sessions.
No previous kitesurfing experience is required. This course is designed for complete beginners looking to build a strong foundation and learn the essential skills needed to continue in the sport.
Participants should bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a towel and drinks for the day. While kitesurfing involves physical activity, success comes far more from technique and understanding than strength, making it accessible to a wide range of people.
Progression is carefully structured to ensure students develop confidence step by step while learning within an authorised private teaching area. Small teaching ratios, quality equipment and a focus on individual development help create an effective and enjoyable learning environment.
Qualified instructors hold recognised certifications across kiteboarding, sailing, SUP and surf coaching disciplines. Lessons are available in several languages and supported by premium waterfront facilities, allowing students to focus entirely on learning and enjoying their time on the water.
Yes. The Fast Track Course has been designed specifically for people with no previous kitesurfing experience.
The programme starts with the basics and gradually builds your skills over multiple sessions, allowing you to learn at a comfortable pace while developing a strong foundation.
The VDWS licence is an internationally recognised certification used by many kitesurfing schools and centres around the world.
Receiving a licence helps demonstrate your training level and can make it easier to continue learning or hire equipment at participating locations in the future.
Yes. Unlike a discovery lesson, this course introduces board work and water starts as part of the learning process.
While everyone's progress differs, students typically finish the course having experienced their first board starts and developed the skills needed for further progression.
The six hours of instruction are divided across two or three days, depending on conditions and scheduling.
Splitting the training into shorter sessions allows you to absorb information more effectively while giving your body time to rest between lessons.
No. Kitesurfing relies far more on technique, timing and understanding wind power than physical strength.
People of different ages, sizes and fitness levels can learn successfully when taught using the correct methods and progression techniques.
Sunglasses are strongly recommended as they help reduce glare from the water and make it easier to follow the kite.
You should also bring sunscreen, a towel, water and any snacks you may want throughout the day.
