Explore one of Portugal's most dramatic coastlines on a guided coasteering adventure through Arrábida Natural Park. You will scramble, swim and climb your way along roughly 800 metres of cliff and cove, with optional challenges and always an alternative route if you prefer to skip a section.
After a safety briefing at the Portinho meeting point, your guide leads you along the base of Arrábida's limestone cliffs. The route mixes short rock climbs, an abseil descent, passage through sea caves including the chapel inside Sta Margarida cave, a zip line that lands you in the water, swimming sections and optional cliff jumps.
A boat trip is woven into the day so you can rest between the wetter sections and see the coastline from the water. Every obstacle has a bypass, so you stay in control of how much adrenaline you want while still completing the full coastal journey.

Basic swimming confidence in open water is important because parts of the route are in the sea. You do not need climbing or abseil qualifications to join.
No obstacle on the route is compulsory. There is always an alternative way to continue, whether that means walking around a jump, using a lower platform or skipping the zip line entirely.
Guides will never pressure you to take a challenge you are not comfortable with. Many guests mix and match, trying some obstacles and bypassing others.
The minimum age for this coasteering session is 10 years. Younger participants need to be confident in the water and able to follow guide instructions on uneven terrain.

Transport to the meeting point is not included. Allow extra time for parking and finding the group in busy summer months.
Yes. The route passes through sea caves along the Portinho coastline, including Sta Margarida cave, which holds a small 17th-century chapel inside. Your guide leads the group through at a safe pace and explains the geology and history of the site.
Cave sections can be dim and uneven underfoot. Follow guide instructions and stay with the group throughout.
