Learn the essentials of sailing a fast, stable vessel with a fun and hands-on catamaran course set in the scenic waters of Alcudia Bay. Whether you're a complete beginner or already familiar with the basics, this course offers personalised instruction designed to build confidence and skills at your own pace. Choose from 1, 2, or 5-day options, each providing structured training and plenty of time out on the water.
Each course day includes a short theory session followed by time on the water in a twin-hull sailing catamaran. You'll begin by learning to rig the boat, read wind direction, and safely launch and land. Newer sailors will start with balance, basic turns, and wind awareness, while more experienced participants will move onto refined steering techniques, speed trimming, and effective use of the jib. Sessions are always supervised by an experienced instructor, either on board or nearby via a safety boat.
The format is designed to be flexible. The 1-day option focuses on key sailing principles and handling basics. The 2-day version builds on these with more independent control and improved manoeuvring. The 5-day course covers all of the above and adds more advanced sail trim, reacting to changing sea conditions, and faster transitions. Each day builds on the previous, with the instructor adjusting the pace depending on your progress.
Courses take place in Puerto de Alcudia on Mallorca’s north coast. The bay is known for its calm, open waters and favourable wind patterns—ideal for sailing tuition at all levels. There's minimal swell, which helps beginners focus on the fundamentals without added challenges.
The area is also easily accessible and well set up for watersports. The beach provides a safe, wide launch area, and sessions remain close to shore for easy support and feedback. Conditions here make it possible to cover a lot in a short time, especially with small group sizes and one-to-one coaching available.
There are no prior experience requirements, and you don’t need any previous sailing background to join this course. All key techniques will be explained and demonstrated before you try them yourself on the water.
A reasonable level of physical mobility is helpful, as the course involves balancing, shifting weight, and occasionally entering the water. If you’re unsure whether this is suitable, feel free to ask for a quick chat with an instructor beforehand.
The centre has been running sailing instruction in Mallorca for years, with a reputation for balancing safety, fun, and real skill development. Every instructor is fully qualified, friendly, and experienced at adapting sessions to individual levels and confidence. Beginners get step-by-step guidance, while more advanced sailors are challenged with technique drills and problem-solving tasks.
The equipment is well maintained, with responsive catamarans perfect for learning. Sessions are small, allowing for high levels of support, and the bay’s consistent winds mean fewer cancellations or delays. If you want a practical course that teaches you how to sail while still enjoying the freedom of being on the water, this is a solid choice.

You’ll have access to full on-site facilities, including changing rooms, toilets, and secure lockers for your belongings. This makes it easy to change in and out of your gear before and after your session, without needing to arrive already prepared. The facilities are kept clean and well-maintained for your comfort and convenience.
As part of the activity, all necessary safety and technical equipment is provided. This includes professional-grade nautical equipment, buoyancy vests, and insurance cover for both liability and accidents. The aim is to provide a safe, comfortable, and well-supported experience from start to finish, with everything you need available on-site.
If weather conditions on the day of your reservation prevent the activity from going ahead, there’s no need to worry. Your booking is flexible, and the team will work with you to reschedule for another available slot before the end of your holiday. This means you won’t miss out due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control.
Mallorca’s weather can change quickly, but safety is always the priority. If the forecast poses any risk or would negatively impact the quality of the session, the activity will be postponed. In most cases, an alternative day can be found, and you’ll be informed in plenty of time if there’s any need to rearrange.
The activity takes place in a designated area within the bay at Port d’Alcudia, which is known for its calm waters and scenic surroundings. There’s a clearly marked nautical channel that ensures a safe and organised area for watersports. This location allows for a safe and enjoyable experience regardless of your ability level, making it suitable for most participants.
The full address is Paseo Marítimo, 1, 07400 Port d’Alcudia, on the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands. The port area is easy to access and well-equipped, with nearby cafes and facilities if you want to relax before or after your session. The calm conditions of the bay also make it an ideal location for first-time participants or those looking to build confidence on the water.
To get the most out of your session, it's recommended to come prepared with a few basic items. You’ll need a swimsuit, a cap or visor for sun protection, sunglasses, and sunscreen to help protect against the midday heat. A towel is also a good idea for drying off afterwards, especially if you’re planning to change at the on-site facilities.
For your feet, bring water shoes such as flip-flops, aqua booties or other non-slip footwear. This will help you move comfortably around the shore and equipment area, especially if surfaces are wet or uneven. Staying hydrated is also important, so bringing a water bottle is advisable, particularly on hotter days.
