If you're new to canyoning, this adventure is the perfect introduction. Set in the heart of the Lake District, this half-day session includes jumps, slides, and abseils as you make your way through the canyon. With expert guidance and high-quality equipment provided, it's a brilliant way to experience the excitement of canyoning in a safe and supportive environment.
After meeting your instructor, you'll be kitted out with all the necessary gear, including a thick wetsuit to keep you warm, a buoyancy aid, and a helmet. Once ready, a short walk leads you to the start of the canyon, where your guide will explain the techniques needed for the adventure ahead.
The session includes natural water slides, jumps into deep pools, and controlled abseils down waterfalls. Each feature is introduced gradually, allowing beginners to build confidence as they go. With expert support throughout, you’ll have the option to take on bigger challenges or stick to routes that suit your comfort level.
This canyoning experience takes place in Coniston, a well-known spot in the Lake District surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. The Coppermines Valley is steeped in history, with remnants of old mining structures adding to the character of the area.
The canyon itself offers a mix of deep pools, smooth rock chutes, and impressive waterfalls, making it an exciting setting for an adventure.
Participants must be at least 12 years old and comfortable in water, though strong swimming skills are not required. A reasonable level of fitness is needed, as the session involves climbing, scrambling, and moving through flowing water.
Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of two children per adult.
