Experience a delightful cycling adventure through gorgeous landscapes on this private tour, exclusively for guests of Back of Beyond Touring Park. This 2.5-hour journey combines scenic trails with a touch of history, perfect for enthusiasts seeking a blend of leisure and exploration.
The adventure begins with a guided ride departing from Back of Beyond Touring Park. Steve, our experienced guide, will lead you along the historic Castleman Trailway, a disused railway that once connected Dorset to the broader rail network. Named after Charles Castleman, this route offers a glimpse into the past with its winding path and historic significance.
Leaving the railway, you'll enter Moors Valley Country Park. Spanning over 80 acres, this park features wide tracks through towering pine trees. Along the way, you'll encounter the WW2 Decoy Bunker, a fascinating relic used during the Second World War to simulate nearby RAF airfields. After soaking in the history and natural beauty, there’s an opportunity to stop at the Visitor Centre for coffee and cake before returning to the park.

Participants should be reasonably fit and comfortable riding for up to 2.5 hours on mixed terrain. All bikes must be in safe, working order, and riders should have a puncture repair kit, spare inner tube, and bike pump.
Helmets must be within the manufacturer’s warranty period (3 years from the date of manufacture). Participants should also be prepared for variable weather conditions with appropriate clothing and gear.
Our tours are led by a Fully Qualified Mountain Bike Leader – Level 2, accredited through British Cycling, ensuring a professional and safe experience. We are DBS checked and approved, with fully qualified outdoor first aid skills.
We also hold Public Liability Insurance through British Cycling, providing peace of mind throughout your ride. Our focus on personalised, high-quality experiences makes us a trusted choice for cycling adventures.
If you have your own bike then please bring it along. If needed, we can arrange for bike hire for you.
We can offer standard mountain bikes or e-bikes, bikes come from Cyclexperience in Brockenhurst.

While we can accept children on our tours it is on the understanding that they must be able to ride confidently on the road.
Although not all of our tours involve road cycling, there may be times when there are sections that need to be travelled on road.
We require all riders to fill in a rider information form ahead of their tour. Within this includes information about any medical conditions you have. Completing these forms is part of ensuring that you are insured on your ride.

All of our tours feature a ‘pit stop’ at a local café or place to eat.
Please bring your own money or card to purchase any drinks or snacks you require.
Depending on the tour you are doing, dogs may be allowed if in a suitable dog trailer.

Bike hire can be arranged through Cyclexperience, in collaboration with us. You will need to sign Cyclexperience’s terms and conditions upon delivery of the bike to Back of Beyond.
