A fast-paced 1-hour axe throwing session in Littlehampton where you’ll learn to throw both Tomahawk and traditional axes under expert guidance. Whether you’re booking as a pair or a small group, this is an ideal way to challenge your accuracy, have a laugh and try something out of the ordinary.
You’ll begin with a quick check-in followed by an in-depth safety briefing led by your instructor, who will talk you through proper throwing stance, technique, and axe handling. With safety equipment provided and supervision throughout, you’ll be shown how to throw the Tomahawk first, getting to grips with the motion before stepping things up. There's no rush – time is built in to practise, ask questions, and get confident with your throws.
As the session progresses, you’ll move into structured games or free-flow rounds depending on group size and preference. With individual instruction and ongoing tips, you’ll sharpen your accuracy and start hitting your targets more consistently. Expect plenty of friendly competition, a few cheers when someone nails the bullseye, and a solid dose of fun. All throws are unlimited during the session, giving you plenty of opportunity to improve, compete, and enjoy the experience.

The minimum age for participation is 10, but all under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. There’s no need for prior experience – instructors will tailor the session based on your confidence and ability, so anyone can take part and enjoy it fully.

No experience is required to take part in axe throwing at our Littlehampton venue. The session is designed to suit all levels, from complete beginners to those who’ve tried it before. Your instructor will guide you through the basics at the start of the hour, including how to hold, aim, and throw safely using both the Tomahawk and traditional axe.
You’ll receive clear instruction and plenty of hands-on time to get comfortable with your throws. Throughout the session, your instructor will offer tailored advice and techniques to help you improve. Whether you’re there to learn something new or just have fun with friends or family, the session is built to be safe, supportive, and engaging for everyone.
All participants must wear closed-toe footwear. This is a strict requirement, and you won’t be allowed to enter the throwing lanes without suitable shoes. Trainers or sturdy boots work best, as they provide enough grip and protection while allowing you to move freely and comfortably.
Clothing should be weather-appropriate and comfortable, especially if you’re visiting during cooler or damp conditions. Avoid anything restrictive around the arms or shoulders, as full range of motion is important for throwing. Lightweight layers are usually the best choice, giving you flexibility while keeping you comfortable throughout the session.
Yes, the minimum age for this activity is 10. Any participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a supervising adult for the entire session. The supervising adult does not have to throw, but they must remain on site and actively supervise their young person throughout.
This policy is in place for both safety and site regulations, and helps ensure that all participants have a safe and supported experience. If you’re unsure whether your child is suitable for the session, feel free to get in touch ahead of time for advice based on age and maturity.
Sessions will usually go ahead in most weather conditions, including light rain, so it’s a good idea to bring a waterproof layer just in case. The lanes are built to be safe and usable in varied conditions, and axe throwing in the open air can actually add to the atmosphere when you're dressed appropriately.
If weather conditions are deemed unsafe – such as high winds or heavy rain – the session may be delayed, paused, or rescheduled. You’ll be contacted in advance where possible and given the option to rebook. The priority is always your safety and ensuring that the activity remains enjoyable for all involved.
Definitely. Axe throwing is a great activity for birthdays, family get-togethers, small stag or hen groups, or even just a fun afternoon out. The Littlehampton range caters for groups of 1–8 people, and the instructor can adapt the session to include challenges or games that suit the mood of the group.
If you’re celebrating something or want to make the experience more competitive, you can let us know when booking. The instructor will include mini-competitions or target-based scoring games to give your session a bit of extra flair. It’s an ideal choice for groups looking to try something new, without the need for prior experience.
