After breakfast, meet your mountain guides and porters before travelling to the Rongai trailhead via Marangu Gate. Following registration and permit formalities, begin your trek from Nale Moru Village, passing maize fields and pine forest before entering native woodland. The trail climbs gently to First Cave Camp, making for a comfortable first day on the mountain.
Overnight: First Cave Camp
Continue climbing towards Kibo, passing Second Cave (3,450 m) before reaching Kikelewa Cave. As the forest gives way to open moorland, you'll enjoy increasingly dramatic views across Kilimanjaro's northern slopes.
Overnight: Kikelewa Cave Camp
A short but steeper climb brings you to the spectacular Mawenzi Tarn, nestled beneath the towering cliffs of Mawenzi Peak. Spend the afternoon acclimatising and exploring this beautiful high-altitude campsite.
Overnight: Mawenzi Tarn Camp
Cross the broad alpine saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo, trekking through an otherworldly alpine desert before arriving at Kibo Hut. Spend the remainder of the day resting and preparing for the overnight summit attempt.
Overnight: Kibo Camp
Shortly before midnight, begin your summit attempt, climbing via Hans Meyer Cave to Gilman's Point (5,681 m) before continuing to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement and taking in the spectacular sunrise, descend back to Kibo Hut before continuing to Horombo Hut for a well-earned rest.
Overnight: Horombo Hut
After breakfast, descend through heathland and rainforest to Marangu Gate, where you'll receive your summit certificate before transferring back to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.

We will give you more information ahead of your trip with us, but as standard, we recommend the following packing list for our trips:
Tip: Make photocopies or digital copies of your passport, visa, flight tickets and insurance documents. Leave one copy with someone at home and keep another separate from the originals.
Summer: September to April. Temperature: 20°C to 30°C.
Winter: May to August. Temperature: 19°C to 25°C.
Rainfall: April-May (long rains) and November to mid-December (short rains).
