Experience a week full of adventure and fun with the Youth Multi Activity Camp. This action-packed camp is perfect for both beginners and experienced water sports enthusiasts, offering the chance to try a variety of exciting activities. From windsurfing to winging and paddleboarding, every day brings a new experience that will help build confidence, skills, and friendships in a safe and welcoming environment.
Throughout the week, participants will enjoy a variety of activities designed to introduce them to different water sports or enhance skills they already have. Each day focuses on a new adventure, ensuring that no two days are alike.
On the first day, participants will try windsurfing, learning the basics of balancing, steering, and handling the board. The following day will introduce winging, where they’ll get the chance to learn how to control the wing and board.
Other activities include mixed paddle sports, where participants can practice their skills across different boards, and Mega SUP games, which promote teamwork and friendly competition. A highlight of the week is the powerboat trip, offering a thrilling experience while exploring new destinations. The camp is designed to give each participant a range of experiences, helping them gain new skills while having a great time with new friends.
The camp is held at Osprey Quay in Portland, Dorset, which is renowned for its vibrant marine leisure scene. Located in the heart of one of the UK’s top watersports areas, the centre provides easy access to both calm waters for beginners and more challenging conditions for those with prior experience.
The area is well-known for its beautiful coastline, perfect for a wide range of water sports and outdoor activities.
No prior experience is required for the camp as activities are suitable for both beginners and those with some previous experience. However, participants should be comfortable around water and able to follow instructions.
A good level of fitness is recommended, as some activities may require physical exertion, particularly when it comes to paddling or manoeuvring on the SUP.
The centre is led by Tris, who brings a wealth of experience to the camp. With a background in industrial design and a long career in windsurfing, Tris has co-founded the centre with the aim of providing accurate equipment testing and ensuring that participants receive the best possible tuition.
With years of experience as a Trainer for the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and as a key member of Windsurf Magazine’s test team, Tris is dedicated to sharing his passion for the sport with the next generation of water sports enthusiasts.
The camp is set up to give young participants a well-rounded introduction to watersports, with the main focus on progression, safety, and enjoyment.
