Bring your own vehicle and test its capability on our purpose-built 40-acre off-road site, with optional guidance from a BORDA-trained instructor. Whether you’re new to off-roading or want to push your setup a little further, this session gives you the freedom to tackle a variety of terrain at your own pace—with expert support available if needed.
After a short safety briefing, you’ll be let loose on the off-road course in your own 4x4. The site offers a mix of features including muddy trails, woodland paths, rutted climbs, descents, water crossings, and axle-twisting articulation zones. Whether you’re testing new kit or just having a go for the first time, the layout offers flexibility for beginners and experienced drivers alike.
A BORDA-trained instructor will accompany you either in your vehicle or in a support role from outside. You’ll receive guidance on line choice, obstacle approach, and best practice for different conditions—ideal for anyone looking to build confidence or explore the full potential of their vehicle. The session runs at your pace, and the terrain can be adapted depending on your skill level and vehicle type.
Set in private woodland just outside Farnsfield, Nottinghamshire, the course spans 40 acres and includes natural and constructed features for a true off-road driving experience. You’ll find wooded sections, steep banks, deep ruts, and various types of terrain designed to challenge suspension, traction, and control.
The site entrance is located on the A617 heading toward Newark, roughly 200 yards on the left after the A614 roundabout. The postcode NG22 8BP will get you close, though it’s advised to follow signs and directions provided, as sat navs can sometimes miss the gate. Parking and check-in are clearly marked on arrival.
All drivers must be aged 18 or over and bring their own road-legal 4x4 vehicle in suitable condition for off-road use. All occupants, including the instructor, must have their own seat and seatbelt. Vehicles should be insured and capable of light to moderate off-road conditions.
No off-road experience is necessary. Instructors are available to help build confidence and offer technical advice throughout the session, whether you’re self-driving or requesting support.

Yes, there is free parking available at the meeting point on Kirklington Road, near Farnsfield. We’re located just off the A617 heading towards Newark—200 yards from the A614 roundabout. Once you’re nearby, look out for signage and our team.
Please note that sat navs don’t always take you to the exact entrance, so it’s a good idea to double-check the directions beforehand. We suggest allowing a bit of extra time to ensure you arrive on schedule and don’t miss any of your session time.
You must bring a road-legal 4x4 in safe, working condition. The site is designed for traditional off-road-capable vehicles like Land Rovers, Toyota Land Cruisers, and similar models with proper ground clearance and low-range gearing. Soft-roaders and SUVs without off-road features may not be suitable for some parts of the course.
If you’re unsure whether your vehicle is suitable, it’s a good idea to check ahead. Instructors can help suggest which parts of the course to attempt based on your setup, and there are sections designed for both basic and more capable vehicles.

Yes, you can bring passengers, provided there is a proper seat and seatbelt for each person. All occupants must remain inside the vehicle while driving unless instructed otherwise by the instructor.

Jez was a good “host”, helping us along the way. We hadn’t fully read the description of the activity and it turned out to be more physical then expected; however, it didn’t stop us enjoying ourselves - even the assault course was conquered by all.
