Get behind the wheel for a two-part off-road driving experience that mixes real terrain with a fun twist. This 4x4 + Blindfold Combo gives each driver up to 30 minutes of drive time, including a full guided session around our woodland trails and a blindfolded challenge where you'll rely entirely on verbal directions from your passengers. It’s suitable for ages 18+ and no licence is required.
Your session starts with a fully guided 4x4 drive through woodland terrain. You’ll be driving a Land Rover Discovery TD5 accompanied by a BORDA-trained instructor who’ll coach you as you take on muddy tracks, water sections, steep inclines, descents, and sloped woodland trails. This is your time to get a feel for off-road driving in a controlled and encouraging environment.
Next, the session changes pace with a blindfolded driving challenge. You’ll stay in the driver’s seat but won’t be able to see—your only guidance comes from your fellow participants giving verbal instructions from the passenger seat. It’s all about trust, teamwork, and clear communication, and often brings plenty of laughs. It’s a memorable, hands-on experience that combines practical skill and group fun.
The activity takes place on a private 40-acre site near Farnsfield in Nottinghamshire, offering a wide range of off-road conditions and plenty of space for the blindfold circuit. Woodland paths, muddy sections, and open spaces provide varied terrain for both parts of the session.
The meeting point is on Kirklington Road off the A617 heading towards Newark—about 200 yards after the A614 roundabout on the left. Sat navs don’t always lead directly to the entrance, so it’s worth using the detailed directions provided. Staff and signage will help guide you once you’re nearby.
Participants must be 18 or over, but there is no requirement to hold a driving licence as all activities take place on private land. The experience is open to all abilities and doesn’t assume any previous off-road experience.
Comfortable outdoor clothing and footwear are recommended, especially in wetter conditions. All safety guidance is provided on the day, and instructors will make sure you feel prepared and confident before you drive.
The combination of technical 4x4 driving and the blindfold challenge makes this one of the most enjoyable and team-focused driving activities available. It offers a unique opportunity to learn off-road techniques while also sharing a laugh with friends or colleagues during the blindfolded section.
Run by experienced, BORDA-accredited instructors, each session is tailored to your group’s pace and ability. Whether you're building confidence or just in it for the fun, the set-up ensures everyone gets their moment behind the wheel and plenty to talk about afterwards.
Yes, there is free parking available at the meeting point on Kirklington Road, near Farnsfield. We’re located just off the A617 heading towards Newark—200 yards from the A614 roundabout. Once you’re nearby, look out for signage and our team.
Please note that sat navs don’t always take you to the exact entrance, so it’s a good idea to double-check the directions beforehand. We suggest allowing a bit of extra time to ensure you arrive on schedule and don’t miss any of your session time.
This experience combines two off-road driving sessions into one: a classic woodland 4x4 trek and a unique blindfolded challenge. In the first part, you’ll be coached by a BORDA-trained instructor as you drive a Land Rover Discovery TD5 through mud, inclines, water, and woodland tracks.
The second part flips the format—you stay in the driver’s seat, but now you’re blindfolded and have to rely entirely on verbal directions from a fellow passenger to navigate a course. It’s equal parts skill, teamwork, and fun, and works brilliantly for groups of friends or team-building days.
No licence is required to take part in either part of the session. All activities take place on private land, which means you don’t need to meet the legal requirements for road driving. This makes it a great opportunity for those who haven’t yet passed their test or want to try driving in a new environment.
The only requirement is that all participants are 18 years or older. Previous driving experience isn’t necessary—your instructor will tailor their support depending on your skill level.
Once your off-road section is complete, the instructor will guide you to the blindfold challenge area. You'll remain in the driver’s seat and be blindfolded, while a fellow participant takes the role of navigator and talks you through a marked-out course using verbal instructions only.
The route is designed to be slow-paced and safe, but the challenge lies in communication and trust. It's often the most entertaining part of the session, with lots of laughs as friends try to steer each other through without visual cues.
While the blindfolded section is part of the scheduled experience, participation is always your choice. If you feel uncomfortable, nervous, or would prefer to observe, you can opt out of that part and still enjoy the off-road driving.
That said, the blindfold challenge is run at a gentle speed with supervision, and many participants find it more enjoyable and humorous than they expected. You can even bring your own blindfold if preferred.
Each participant will get approximately 25–30 minutes of drive time in total. This includes time spent driving the vehicle off-road under instruction and completing the blindfolded circuit.
Timing can vary slightly depending on group size and how the session runs, but all participants will receive equal drive time. Larger groups may take turns, and there’s plenty to watch while you wait.
You’ll be driving through 40 acres of varied private woodland that features challenging but manageable terrain. Expect muddy sections, deep ruts, tight bends, sloped descents, water crossings, and some narrow woodland trails.
The course has been designed to give a real taste of off-roading while still being safe for beginners. During the blindfold challenge, the terrain is flatter and more controlled to ensure safety at low speeds.
The combo experience is flexible depending on group size. Smaller bookings of 2 drivers are priced per car, while larger groups of 4 or more are priced per person. Vehicles are shared for efficiency, and driving is done in rotation to ensure everyone gets behind the wheel.
If your group is particularly large or you’d like to combine this with other activities, advance notice is recommended so the team can plan extra vehicles or structure the session to suit your group.
