Elevate your windsurfing skills with the Intermediate Windsurfing Course, designed for those who have mastered the basics and are ready to progress. This course focuses on refining your techniques for planing conditions, transitioning to smaller boards, and handling stronger winds confidently. With expert instructors and a curriculum aligned with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), it offers a comprehensive learning experience that bridges the gap between beginner and advanced windsurfing.
On Day 1, the course will introduce advanced equipment setup and control techniques, focusing on planing and the use of footstraps. You'll get comfortable with your new setup and build confidence in early planing conditions.
Day 2 will focus on refining your skills, working on faster tacks, gybes, and navigating in various wind conditions. You'll also learn how to adjust to stronger winds, all designed to boost your confidence and ability on the water.
The course takes place at Portland Harbour, renowned for its versatile wind and water conditions, making it an ideal location for windsurfing.
The harbour’s rich maritime history adds a unique charm to the area, offering a fantastic backdrop for your learning experience.
To participate in this course, you should have completed the RYA Start Windsurfing Course or possess equivalent experience. A basic level of fitness and comfort in the water is recommended, as some of the skills covered may require a bit more stamina.
Opting for this course means learning with a team that has over two decades of windsurfing experience, including testing for international magazines. The centre is an accredited RYA windsurfing training centre, offering a structured yet flexible environment.
