Newar windows line the bazaar on this two-day private trip to Bandipur, a hill village between Kathmandu and Pokhara. We'll collect you after breakfast, walk past Siddha Cave and up to Tudikhel, sleep on the ridge, then take the old trail down to Dumre. The minimum age is 13.
After breakfast we'll collect you from your Kathmandu hotel and drive toward Bandipur, about five hours with a lunch stop at Bimalnagar. From there you'll walk about two hours toward the village, passing Siddha Cave, then take a short evening walk to Tudikhel for the Marsyangdi valley and the snow line when the sky is clear.
You'll sleep one night in a hotel on the ridge and have dinner in the village. The next morning you'll walk Bandipur Bazaar, including Khadga Devi Temple and Bindhebasini Temple, then take the old trail about two hours down to Dumre.
We'll stop for lunch at Bimalnagar again and drive you back to the same Kathmandu hotel. The trip is private for your group, so the walks can follow your pace. Lunch and dinner are included on day one, and breakfast and lunch on day two.
A ridge midway on the road between Kathmandu and Pokhara holds Bandipur, a Newar hill village of carved windows, temples, and inns, with the Marsyangdi valley below. The old bazaar is compact enough to walk in an evening, and most of the houses sit close to the hotel night.
Siddha Cave is on the walk in from Bimalnagar. Tudikhel is the open ground above the houses, looking at the snow peaks when the sky is clear. Dumre is the roadside bazaar at the foot of the old trail, where the vehicle meets you for the drive home.
You do not need previous trekking experience. You should be happy with a long drive, two walks of about two hours on village paths, and a night in a simple hill hotel.
The minimum age is 13. Bring a passport, sturdy shoes, and a warm layer for the evening on the ridge. Tell us about any medical needs before you come so we can plan the walks around them.
Private for your group means one English-speaking guide from Lazimpat stays with you from the Kathmandu pickup through the cave, the bazaar, and the drive home. The hotel night and the listed meals are arranged in the city before you leave, so you are not looking for a room after the walk to Tudikhel.
Our team has been running village nights out of Lazimpat for more than two decades. Permits sit with that office, and the vehicle stays with you on the road sections so you are not waiting for a local bus at Dumre.
