During our lesson, you'll tackle a comprehensive journey into the world of kayaking. We start by familiarising you with the equipment, teaching you the proper techniques for lifting and carrying your kayak.
Next, our expert instructors guide you through the basic controls, ensuring you feel confident and in control on the water. We'll delve into the intricacies of tides and weather, providing you with essential knowledge to navigate safely in various conditions.
Finally, we'll cover some basic theory, giving you a solid foundation to build upon as you continue your kayaking travels.
Our sessions take place in the scenic surroundings of Christchurch, providing a gorgeous backdrop for your kayaking adventure.
To join our group lesson, participants must be 8 years old or above. Private lessons are available for all ages and abilities.

Absolutely! Our taster session is specifically designed for beginners, so you'll be in good hands.
We provide all the necessary kayaking equipment, including the kayak, paddle, and safety gear. Just bring yourself and a sense of adventure!
Your safety is our priority. In the event of adverse weather conditions, we will work with you to reschedule your session for a more suitable time.
Our centre is open every day from April -the end of October subject to demand and the weather.
We don’t charge extra for things you need for each booking. So wetsuits are available to all who want to use them. Buoyancy aids are compulsory so of course you get one of those.
All our kayaks come with back supports. We have a small selection of wetsuit shoes for those who forget, but as this is a more personal thing we suggest you bring your own enclosed toe type of shoe that can get wet.
The use of all kit is included with each lesson.
We are happy for well-behaved dogs to accompany you as long as the equipment comes back in the same condition. It is not possible to bring dogs on lessons or tours.
Unfortunately, we don’t. A large council-owned car park in Mudeford Quay is payable by the hour.
Please note that the car park can be very busy during peak season and at the weekends, so please allow plenty of time before your lesson.
All users must read, understand and sign a waiver form prior to use. This will be found in your booking email. And as per your agreement, you must follow instructions given by the team. If in doubt ask.
There is no height limit.
Our single sit-on kayaks have a 150kg recommended capacity.
Our double sit-on kayaks have a 250kg recommended total capacity.

Our guide Lucy took us across Mudeford Harbour and around the Christchurch loop, she looked after us well. You often kayak against the wind to cross the harbour so the first part was challenging and we ended up needing to be towed by speedboat which got us drenched. The loop…
