Ponce is the southern city. Guánica is dry forest, limestone and heat. La Parguera is the boat town for scuba, snorkelling and a bio-bay kayak. This is not El Yunque. Shade is scarce and the light is harsher. The region page is South Coast & Cordillera.

Hiking Guánica is a morning job with water in the pack. Afternoon heat is the reason people bail. La Parguera nights depend on the moon, same as every bio bay on this island.
