How long is the Lamanai day?

A full day with the river. It's not a two-hour ruin ticket. If you only have a morning, you're on the wrong itinerary.

Will I see howler monkeys?

Often along that river, not always. Go for the boat and the site. Treat wildlife as a bonus.

Is it suitable for children?

On many boats, yes, with sun cover and patience for hours on the water. Check age notes. It isn't a playground.

Can I do this from Caye Caulker?

As a long day with water taxi plus road plus river, it's a slog. Overnight on the mainland if Lamanai matters.

Things to do in Orange Walk

Orange Walk is New River and Lamanai: boat-in temples, lagoon wildlife, and inland river hours from the northern sugar towns. It's a sitting-and-looking day with muddy walks at the site. Bring binoculars if you care about birds. Don't bring reef expectations.
