Atlántida is La Ceiba, Tela and the Caribbean plain under Pico Bonito. This is where Honduras's mainland adventure actually happens: rainforest trails, the Cangrejal, and boats toward Cayos Cochinos. You'll get wet. That's the point in the green season and a thing to plan around in any month.
Pico Bonito, the Cangrejal and Cayos Cochinos
Stay on the river or in La Ceiba so trailheads and put-ins are close. Hiking in Pico Bonito is muddy, steep and guided on the useful routes. Rafting depends on overnight rain. Cayos Cochinos is a snorkel day, cancelled by wind. Tela is the beach-and-boat variant of the same coast.
Using it as a hub
The Utila ferry leaves from here, which is why island-and-jungle weeks work. Don't treat Atlántida as a drive-through. Open the Book here tab for live days in North Coast and Pico Bonito.
