A flyboard is connected by a hose to a jet ski, which pushes water through your feet hard enough to lift you out of the sea. The first few goes are a splashy, flailing business. Then you find your balance, the board steadies, and suddenly you are hovering a couple of feet up feeling rather pleased with yourself.
It is more beginner-friendly than it has any right to be. An instructor controls the power and talks you through it, so most people are up and hovering within the first session. Board, helmet and buoyancy aid are all provided.
The sessions on adventuro are run by instructors who do this all day, so you are in safe hands while you work out which way is up. A wetsuit and a willingness to fall in are about all you need.
