Do I need to be strong?

No. Beginner bows are set to a comfortable draw weight, and good technique matters far more than muscle.

Do I need experience?

None. Instructors cover stance, draw and release from scratch, and most people are hitting the target before long.

Yes. Sessions run on controlled ranges with clear rules about when to shoot and when to collect arrows, all overseen by instructors.

Comfortable clothes without loose sleeves, and tie back long hair. An arm guard and any other gear are provided.

What kind of bows will I use?

Usually a recurve to start, which is the classic Olympic-style bow. Some venues also offer longbow or compound once you are keen.

What age can you start?

Many sessions welcome children through to adults. Check the specific session.
