Cover more ground and handle steeper sections with the added power of a 625cc quad on this one-hour guided discovery ride. This option follows the same scenic route through the park but suits riders who want stronger acceleration and a heavier, more planted feel on mixed terrain.
The ride begins with a structured safety briefing focused on quad controls, braking, throttle use, and riding rules within the park. Helmets and safety equipment are fitted before you’re introduced to the 625cc quad, with time allowed to familiarise yourself with its weight and power before leaving the start area.
Once on the trail network, the route follows a mix of wide dirt paths and natural tracks through forested areas and open volcanic ground. The larger engine provides extra torque on inclines and rougher surfaces, while the guide maintains a steady pace suitable for mixed-ability groups. The ride remains controlled rather than fast, prioritising safe handling and consistent progress.
Planned stops are built into the route at key viewpoints, including the 23-coloured earth formations and nearby waterfalls. These breaks allow time for photos and short explanations about the landscape before continuing the loop back to the starting point.
The ride takes place inside a large nature park in the south of Mauritius, known for its volcanic terrain, coloured earth formations, and maintained off-road trail system. The park layout allows quad routes to reach quieter sections while still accessing major landmarks.
Located inland, the setting contrasts with the coastal areas of the island, offering forest cover, rivers, and varied ground conditions. On-site parking and basic visitor facilities are available, making the location easy to access for self-drive visitors.
No previous quad biking experience is required, but riders should be comfortable controlling a motorised vehicle with more power and weight than entry-level quads. Confidence with steering, braking, and throttle control is important.
Closed-toe shoes are mandatory, and clothing should be suitable for dust and mud. Riders must be able to follow instructions and remain attentive throughout the session.
This option offers the same accessible discovery route with the benefit of a more powerful quad, making it a good choice for riders who want extra torque without moving to a more technical itinerary. The route balances riding time with regular stops at key natural features.
Experienced local guides lead each group, ensuring clear communication, controlled pacing, and consistent safety standards. Entrance to the nature park is included, keeping the experience straightforward with no additional access fees on arrival.
Yes, beginners can take part, but this option suits riders who are confident handling a motorised vehicle. The quad is heavier and more powerful than smaller models.
A safety briefing and familiarisation time are provided to ensure riders are comfortable before setting off.
The route and duration are the same, but the 625cc quad offers more power and torque. This is noticeable on climbs and uneven ground.
Handling feels more solid, which some riders prefer, especially if they have previous riding experience.
The session is fully guided from start to finish. You ride your own quad, following a guide along designated trails.
The guide controls pacing, stops, and route choice throughout the ride.
