This two-hour quad ride combines the easier discovery trails with the more engaging adventure sections, giving you a broader view of the park and more time on the quad. Using a 450cc quad, it’s designed for riders who want a longer session that builds gradually from relaxed riding into more varied terrain.
Duration: 2 hours
Engine size: 450cc
Guided: Yes
Route type: Discovery followed by Adventure
Terrain: Dirt tracks, forest trails, uneven volcanic ground
Riding level: Beginners with confidence and above
The session begins with a safety briefing covering quad controls, braking, throttle use, and riding rules within the park. Helmets and safety equipment are provided, and you’ll have time to get comfortable on the quad before setting off. The first part of the ride follows the discovery route, allowing riders to settle in on wider tracks and gentler terrain.
As the ride progresses, the route transitions into the adventure section. Trails become narrower and more varied, with changes in surface and more continuous riding. The 450cc quad keeps handling responsive without feeling heavy, making it well suited to a longer session. The guide manages pacing throughout, ensuring the group remains comfortable as the terrain becomes more engaging.
Planned stops are included along the way at key points such as the coloured earth formations and waterfall areas. These breaks allow time for photos, short explanations, and rest before continuing. The extended duration means less rushing and a better balance between riding time and stops before returning to the starting point.
The activity takes place within a large nature park in the south of Mauritius, known for its volcanic landscapes, forested areas, and managed off-road trail system. The size of the park allows longer routes that move through quieter sections while still covering the main landmarks.
Located inland, the area offers a contrast to the coastal parts of the island, with rivers, woodland tracks, and open viewpoints. Parking and basic visitor facilities are available on site, making access straightforward for those arriving independently.
No previous quad biking experience is required, but riders should be comfortable controlling a motorised vehicle for an extended period. This option suits those who want more time on the quad and are happy to ride for up to two hours with short breaks.
Closed-toe shoes are mandatory, and clothing should be suitable for dust and mud. Riders must be able to follow instructions and maintain control as the terrain becomes more varied during the second part of the ride.
This combined route offers the most complete introduction to quad biking in the park, covering both accessible trails and more engaging sections in a single session. The longer duration allows skills and confidence to build naturally rather than rushing through the terrain.
Experienced guides lead the ride with a focus on smooth progression, safety, and clear communication. Entrance to the nature park is included, keeping the experience simple from arrival through to the end of the ride.
