Float above one of Spain's most historic cities on a sunrise hot air balloon flight over Segovia. Enjoy panoramic views of the UNESCO World Heritage city, including the Roman Aqueduct, Gothic Cathedral and Alcázar, before celebrating your experience with breakfast, a glass of cava and a personalised flight certificate.
Your experience begins early in the morning when conditions are usually ideal for ballooning. After meeting the team, you'll travel a short distance to the launch site, where you can watch the balloon being inflated before receiving a safety briefing from your pilot. Seeing the balloon come to life is all part of the experience and gives you time to ask any questions before take-off.
Once airborne, you'll gently drift above Segovia as the morning light reveals the city's famous landmarks. From the basket, you'll enjoy uninterrupted views of the Roman Aqueduct stretching through the city, the impressive Gothic Cathedral standing at its highest point, and the Alcázar rising from its rocky hilltop. Every flight follows the wind, meaning no two routes are ever exactly the same, making each experience unique.
After a smooth landing, you'll celebrate your flight with a traditional glass of cava before enjoying a picnic breakfast with the group. You'll then receive a flight certificate signed by your pilot before returning to the launch site in a 4x4 support vehicle. Professional photographs and an HD video are also included, giving you lasting memories of your flight.
Flights take place over Segovia in Castile and León, one of Spain's most recognised historic cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The exact launch area varies depending on weather conditions, allowing the pilot to choose the safest location while providing the best possible views throughout the flight.
Located around an hour from Madrid, Segovia is a popular destination for day trips thanks to its remarkable architecture, charming streets and traditional restaurants. An optional pickup from Madrid is available for those who prefer not to arrange their own transport.
No previous ballooning experience is required, making this an accessible activity for first-time flyers as well as those returning for another flight. Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
Please wear comfortable outdoor clothing with trainers or walking shoes. Sandals and high heels are not recommended, and bringing a cap or hat is advised for extra comfort during the flight.
Flying by hot air balloon offers one of the most peaceful ways to experience Segovia, providing uninterrupted views that simply aren't possible from the ground. Experienced pilots and a professional ground crew ensure every stage of the experience is carefully managed, from take-off through to landing.
The experience includes far more than the flight itself. A picnic breakfast, cava celebration, return transport, professional photography, HD video and a signed flight certificate are all included, allowing you to simply enjoy the morning while the team takes care of everything else.
The complete experience lasts approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes. This includes meeting the crew, travelling to the launch site, watching the balloon being prepared, the safety briefing, the one-hour flight, breakfast, the cava celebration and your return journey to the original meeting point.
Although the flight itself lasts around an hour, most guests appreciate that the experience begins well before take-off and continues after landing, making it a memorable morning from start to finish.
The balloon flight typically lasts around one hour. The exact duration can vary slightly depending on wind conditions and the location chosen for a safe landing.
Unlike powered aircraft, a hot air balloon travels with the wind, so every flight follows a different route. This means each experience offers slightly different views while maintaining the same peaceful atmosphere.
You'll enjoy aerial views of Segovia's most famous landmarks, including the Roman Aqueduct, the Gothic Cathedral and the Alcázar. Looking down over the medieval streets and surrounding countryside provides a completely different perspective from exploring the city on foot.
On clear mornings, visibility extends well beyond the city itself, allowing you to appreciate the surrounding landscapes as the sun rises over Castile and León.
Absolutely. Many guests are experiencing a balloon flight for the very first time. Before take-off, your pilot explains everything you need to know, including how the flight works and what to expect during landing.
Ballooning is known for being a calm and gentle activity. Because the balloon moves with the wind, there is very little sensation of speed or turbulence during the flight.
Dress comfortably as though you were going for a countryside walk. Trainers or walking shoes are recommended as launch and landing sites are often on grass or open fields.
Avoid sandals and high heels, and consider bringing a cap or hat for additional comfort. Early mornings can feel cool before sunrise, so wearing layers is often the best option.
Yes. After landing, you'll enjoy a picnic breakfast with the group while celebrating your flight. This relaxed finish allows everyone to share their experience before returning to the launch site.
A traditional glass of cava is also included, marking the successful completion of your balloon flight in classic ballooning style.
