Toni was a great guide! It was an excellent day out and a great experience. The canyoning includes 1 hour hike in, 2.5 hour canyon and 1.5 hour hike out. Be prepared for some walking! Also don't forget your car keys in the shuttle car like we did...
Our climbing instructor Domingo was excellent. Calm and assured, with emphasis on safety and ensuring we were climbing within our limits.

The Torrent de Pareis offers a striking hike through one of Mallorca’s most impressive natural formations—a deep canyon with towering cliffs shaped by ancient glacial waters. This challenging route leads you to the scenic Sa Calobra beach, providing a memorable adventure for experienced hikers.
The hike begins with a descent into the narrow canyon, where steep, rugged walls rise up to 300 metres on either side. You will navigate a stony riverbed dotted with large, smooth rocks shaped by centuries of flowing water. The path requires sure-footedness and attention due to some tricky sections, making it suitable for those comfortable with advanced hiking challenges.
Throughout the route, your guide will highlight the canyon’s unique geological structures and biological diversity, explaining why it has been designated a Natural Monument. The final stretch opens out onto the peaceful Sa Calobra beach, perfect for resting or cooling off if the weather allows. Return transport options include local bus service or boat pickup, which can be organised in advance.
Situated in the municipality of Escorca within the Tramuntana mountain range, the Torrent de Pareis is Mallorca’s longest and most spectacular canyon. Its 300-metre-high cliffs and rugged terrain showcase the island’s dramatic geological history, carved by glacial waters over millennia.
The trail’s end point, Sa Calobra, is a small bay renowned for its clear waters and stunning setting, surrounded by the towering cliffs of the canyon. The area is popular with hikers and nature lovers seeking a combination of physical challenge and scenic reward.
This hike is recommended for experienced walkers comfortable with difficult terrain and technical sections. Participants should have a good level of fitness, sure-footedness, and confidence navigating uneven rocky paths.
Since the route can be demanding, especially in narrow or steep parts, those joining should be prepared for sustained physical effort and variable weather conditions. Proper footwear and clothing suitable for mountain hiking are essential.
Our guides are highly experienced with the Torrent de Pareis route and prioritise safety while ensuring a rewarding and enjoyable experience. They provide detailed insights into the canyon’s geology and ecology, enriching the hike beyond just the physical challenge.
With careful planning of logistics and group management, the guides ensure smooth transitions and support throughout the day. Their knowledge and friendly approach create a welcoming atmosphere, making this tough but unforgettable hike accessible for advanced hikers seeking a unique Mallorca adventure.
The hike is considered advanced due to its rugged terrain, narrow passages, and the presence of large, rounded rocks that require careful navigation. Hikers should be confident walking on uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces throughout the 7.5 km canyon route.
Because of these challenges, the trail demands a good level of fitness, sure-footedness, and experience with similar hikes. It is not recommended for beginners or those with limited mobility.
Approach mountain footwear or sturdy sports shoes with good grip are essential for tackling the stony, uneven terrain safely. Lightweight, breathable hiking clothes are ideal, but it is important to bring layers and a waterproof jacket depending on the season.
In summer, swimwear and a towel are useful for cooling off at the beach finish. Sunscreen, a cap, and sunglasses are recommended year-round to protect against sun exposure during the hike.
Participants from 12 years old are welcome, provided they have sufficient hiking experience and physical fitness. Children must be able to handle the challenging sections safely and keep pace with the group.
Parents should carefully assess their child’s abilities before joining, as some parts of the route require sure footing and concentration. The guides will supervise and ensure safety throughout the hike.
Return transport is not included in the price but can be arranged separately. Options include a local bus service or a boat pickup from Sa Calobra, both requiring advance notice to organise.
If the bus service is not operating, private group pickups can be arranged with the guides. It’s important to plan your return in advance to avoid delays or difficulties.
You should carry at least 1.5 litres of water, snacks such as sandwiches, nuts, or fruit, and any personal essentials like medication. A daypack to hold these items comfortably is recommended.
Other useful items include a camera for capturing the spectacular scenery, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and appropriate clothing for weather conditions. A towel and swimwear are advised if you plan to swim at the beach finish.
The hike is available throughout the year except immediately after rainy periods, when the canyon can become dangerous due to water flow and slippery conditions. The guides will assess safety before confirming the tour.
Autumn, winter, and spring are ideal seasons for cooler temperatures and pleasant hiking weather. Summer is possible but can be hot, so early starts and adequate hydration are essential.
