Helicopter Experience Flight in Yorkshire

Absolutely. Solo participants are welcome and will usually share the helicopter with up to two other passengers alongside the pilot. This allows individuals to enjoy the experience without needing to fill every seat.

If you would prefer a private flight, booking all three available seats provides exclusive use of the helicopter. This is a popular option for couples wanting extra space or small groups celebrating a special occasion.

A booking for three people gives your group exclusive use of the helicopter, meaning only your party and the pilot will be on board for the flight. It creates a much more private experience while following the same planned sightseeing route.

Having the helicopter exclusively also makes it easier to enjoy the experience together, chat during the flight and take photographs without sharing the cabin with other passengers.

Flights are operated using either a Robinson R44 or the modern Bell 505 Jet Ranger. Both aircraft are regularly used for sightseeing flights and provide excellent visibility through large windows.

The aircraft used on your experience depends on operational scheduling and availability. Regardless of which helicopter you fly in, you'll receive the same professional service and enjoy fantastic views across Yorkshire.

Although your chosen flight lasts between 20 and 60 minutes depending on your booking, it's recommended that you allow approximately one hour for the complete experience.

This includes checking in, meeting your pilot, receiving your safety briefing, boarding the helicopter and spending a little time at the airfield before or after your flight.

Yes. There is no fixed minimum age, making this an experience that families can often enjoy together. All bookings involving children are subject to the operator's approval to ensure the flight is suitable.

Anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a paying adult throughout the experience. If you're unsure whether the flight is suitable for a younger child, it's worth discussing your plans before booking.

Spectators are welcome to accompany you to the airfield and watch helicopters arriving and departing from the viewing area beside the helipad.

As operational requirements can occasionally affect access, larger groups of spectators should check in advance. Watching the helicopters take off and land can be just as enjoyable for those remaining on the ground.

Yes. Participants can be up to 6ft 6in tall and weigh a maximum of 18 stone. These limits help ensure the helicopter can be safely balanced and operated.

If you're close to either limit, it's always best to mention this when booking. The team will be happy to confirm whether any additional arrangements are needed before your flight.

Most people in reasonable health can take part without any problems. However, anyone with epilepsy, vertigo or another condition that could affect their safety while flying should speak to the team before booking.

If you have a disability or ongoing medical condition, discussing your requirements in advance allows the team to advise whether the experience is suitable and answer any questions you may have before your visit.

The scenery varies depending on the length of your flight and the conditions on the day, but you can expect wide-ranging views across the Yorkshire countryside shortly after take-off from Sherburn-in-Elmet.

Your pilot will point out notable landmarks wherever possible while following the planned route. Every flight is slightly different, making each experience unique while still providing plenty of opportunities for photographs.
