Quad Biking Experience in Yorkshire

Yes, visitors can use the free on-site parking when attending activities at Hazlewood Castle. The car park is conveniently located close to the activity areas, making it easy to arrive, unload, and get ready without any hassle.

This ensures that you can focus on your day out rather than worrying about additional costs or where to leave your vehicle.

Dogs are very welcome to join you during your visit to Hazlewood Castle. Many guests enjoy being outdoors with their pets, and having your dog along can add to the overall experience. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, dogs must always remain on a lead, and owners are expected to clean up after their pets.

We also ask that dogs are well-behaved and comfortable around groups of people and other dogs. If your dog is nervous or excitable in busy settings, it might be worth considering whether they’ll be happy during your visit. By following these simple guidelines, you and your dog can enjoy a relaxed and positive experience.

Yes, spectators are more than welcome at Hazlewood Castle. Friends and family who prefer not to take part in the activities themselves can still enjoy being part of the day. The site offers comfortable areas where they can sit back with a coffee, take in the surroundings, and watch the action unfold.

Having spectators often adds to the fun, giving participants a boost of encouragement and a friendly cheer from the sidelines. It’s also a great way for non-participants to get a feel for the activities on offer, perhaps inspiring them to join in next time.

There are basic changing facilities available for guests at Hazlewood Castle. These areas provide the privacy you need to get changed before and after your session. However, they are kept simple, so it’s best to come dressed in suitable clothing for your chosen activity if possible.

Bringing a change of clothes is still recommended, particularly if the weather is wet or the session involves getting muddy. Having dry, comfortable clothing to change into after the activity ensures that your trip home is more pleasant.

No previous experience is needed to take part. Every session begins with a clear safety briefing and practical demonstration to ensure all participants feel comfortable before setting off. Instructors will show you how to operate the controls, adjust your position, and handle the quad safely on different surfaces.

Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll start on easier sections of the track to build confidence. As the session progresses, you’ll gradually move onto more technical trails and obstacles, with the instructor guiding you throughout. This makes the experience suitable for both beginners and those who’ve ridden before.

The 150cc bikes are lighter and designed for the woodland trails and obstacle course, making them ideal for those new to quad biking or looking for a fun challenge. These quads focus on balance, control, and technical riding rather than speed, ensuring a rewarding ride for all levels.

The 400cc 4x4 quads are larger, more powerful, and capable of tackling rougher ground. They take you deeper into the woodland where the terrain becomes more challenging. Riders must be at least 5'2" and confident enough to handle the extra weight and strength needed for safe control.

Safety is a top priority, and each session is carefully managed to make sure participants are well looked after. Instructors are fully qualified and remain with the group at all times, offering guidance and immediate support if required.

You’ll also be provided with helmets and all necessary protective gear before you begin. The quads are regularly maintained to a high standard, and the tracks are designed with safety in mind, offering thrills without unnecessary risks.

A driving licence is not required to ride either the 150cc or 400cc quads. The machines are designed for off-road use, and all instruction is provided on-site before your session.

This makes the activity accessible for people who don’t drive, whether you’re 16 or older and just want to try something new, or simply want to enjoy the woodland trails without needing prior driving knowledge.

We recommend wearing comfortable, durable clothing that you don’t mind getting muddy. The tracks go through woodland and can be wet or dusty depending on the weather, so old clothes are best.

Sturdy shoes or boots with good grip are also important for stability when operating the bikes. If you don’t have waterproof footwear, wellie hire is available on-site for a small additional cost.

Quad biking can be enjoyed in most weather conditions, and many riders say the rain and mud make the experience even more fun. Sessions will continue in light rain or cold conditions, with waterproofs available if needed.

In the rare case of extreme weather where safety could be compromised, the team will reschedule your booking for a later date. You’ll be contacted as early as possible to discuss suitable alternatives.

Yes, there are limits to ensure rider safety. For the 150cc quads, the maximum weight is 20 stone, while the 400cc quads have a maximum limit of 25 stone. These limits help maintain safe handling and performance of the bikes.

For the 400cc quads, riders must also be over 5’2” tall. This ensures that you can comfortably reach the controls and handle the machine properly during more demanding parts of the course.
