Coral gardens and colorful marine life fill this Red Sea day in Marsa Alam, combining guided snorkeling with a supervised introductory dive for guests who want to experience scuba diving. Hotel pickup is included, with plenty of time to explore the reefs, relax on board, and enjoy lunch during the trip.
Duration: About 8 hours
Group size: 1 to 15 guests
Pickup: Hotel pickup and return in the Marsa Alam area
Destination: Coral Gardens reefs
Format: Snorkeling trip with a supervised introductory dive and lunch on board
After pickup from your hotel, travel to the marina and board the boat for a full day on the Red Sea. Cruise toward selected Coral Gardens reef sites, where clear water, colorful coral formations, and tropical fish create excellent conditions for exploring the underwater scenery.
Spend time snorkeling with guidance from the crew, returning to the boat between stops to relax on deck. The exact reef locations may vary depending on sea and weather conditions.
Guests who want to experience scuba diving can join a supervised introductory dive with a qualified diving instructor. After a safety briefing and equipment introduction, enter the water with your instructor and discover the reef from below the surface. No previous scuba certification is required for the introductory dive.
A lunch break is served on board, giving you time to relax before continuing with more snorkeling and enjoying the surrounding Red Sea scenery.
Coral Gardens reefs are located off the Marsa Alam coastline, an area known for clear Red Sea water, coral formations, and diverse marine life.
Hotel pickup and return in the Marsa Alam area are included. The captain selects suitable reef stops according to the day's sea and weather conditions, helping provide a comfortable and well-paced experience.
No scuba certification is required for the introductory dive. Guests taking part in diving should be comfortable in the water, follow the instructor's safety instructions, and meet the applicable health and diving requirements.
If you prefer not to dive, you can enjoy the snorkeling portions of the trip instead. Children and non-divers can also enjoy the boat day according to the selected booking option and applicable safety requirements.
Bring swimwear, a towel, sunglasses, and sun protection for your time on the boat.
This experience brings snorkeling and introductory scuba diving together in one full-day Marsa Alam trip. Explore Coral Gardens from the surface, then experience the reef from a different perspective during a supervised first dive.
With hotel pickup and return, professional guidance, snorkeling stops, an introductory diving experience, and lunch on board, the trip offers an easy way to discover more of Marsa Alam's underwater world in one day.
We'll collect you from your Marsa Alam hotel and takes you to the marina. Be ready in the pickup window with swim kit, and bring your dive card if you want tanks. The boat then runs out toward Coral Gardens.
At the first reef, snorkelers explore the surface with a guide while divers join their instructor for a guided dive. Stay close to your group, avoid touching the coral, and follow the crew’s safety instructions throughout the session.
Back on board you eat a freshly prepared lunch and rest in the shade. Drink water, rinse salt off your face, and tell the instructor if you felt tired so the next stop can be paced. Divers should not skip surface intervals.
Further reef stops follow, sea state allowing, so snorkelers and divers get more time in the water. After the last session you cruise back to Marsa Alam and transfer to your hotel. The whole day is about eight hours door to door.
After the final snorkeling or diving session at Coral Gardens, the boat returns to the marina and your transfer takes you back to your Marsa Alam hotel. The full experience lasts around eight hours, including hotel pickup and return.
Yes. Collection from hotels in the Marsa Alam area is part of this day. Give your hotel name when you book so the driver can find the right gate, and be ready in the window you are given because the coast road between resorts can be slow.
Build the whole eight-hour shape into your day rather than planning a late dinner immediately afterwards. Arriving late at reception cuts into time at the reef.
This day mixes snorkel and dive stops on the same Coral Gardens day. The cheaper Coral Gardens listing is snorkel only. Choose this trip if someone in the group wants tanks; use the snorkel-only page if nobody is diving.
They are not two lengths of the same form. The from-price and the kit on the boat are different.
No previous diving experience or certification is required for beginners. Before entering the water, the instructor provides a safety briefing and explains how to use the diving equipment. Your first dive is supervised closely by a qualified instructor throughout the underwater session.
A freshly prepared lunch is served on board between water sessions. Treat it as a proper sit-down on the boat rather than a snack, and say any dietary needs when you confirm your place so the kitchen can try to match them.
Carry extra water and a small snack for the run out if you eat breakfast early. Soft drinks beyond what is served may be extra on the boat.
There are multiple stops where you can dive or snorkel. Exact sites and the number of tank dives can change with sea state, your qualification and how the group is going. Follow the instructor's plan rather than counting on a fixed two-dive script.
Stay where you can see the boat when you surface. Divers and snorkelers may be split at a stop so each group stays at the right depth.
The crew look at swimming ability and, for divers, qualification before they agree a session. Infants are not a fit for the reef stops. Younger children usually snorkel rather than dive.
Mention ages when you confirm your place. Do not assume a junior tank is waiting unless the team have said so.
Swimwear, a rash vest or t-shirt, a towel and dry clothes for the ride back are the practical kit. Divers should bring their certification card and logbook if they have one. Sunscreen, a hat and a long sleeve for the deck matter on an eight-hour day.
A dry bag keeps phones and cards off wet decks. Soft shoes that can get wet help on the swim ladder. Boat kit covers snorkel gear; ask on the day what dive kit is issued rather than assuming a full kit hire.
Tropical fish are the usual sight on these reefs. Turtles and dolphins are sometimes seen, but they are wild. Stay with the guide and give animals space if they appear.
Do not chase wildlife for photos. The coral and the clear water still make the day if the larger animals are elsewhere.
The day needs a workable sea. If the outer reefs are too rough, the crew may switch to closer sites or hold the departure. You will be told as early as they can once morning conditions are clear.
Have a loose plan for the rest of the day so a weather hold does not wreck the whole morning. Eight hours on a boat is already a long window even when the sea is kind.
This is a guided day-boat mix, not a certification course. Open Water and Advanced courses from Marsa Alam are separate listings. Choose this trip if you already dive or only want to snorkel on a Coral Gardens day.
If you want to learn to dive, use the course listings rather than expecting certification to happen on this outing.
