🗺️ What to Expect

After collecting your bike near Midtown Manhattan, you can enter Central Park and begin riding the main park loop, which allows cyclists to move between landmarks without dealing with city traffic. Hybrid bikes are well suited to the park’s paved roads, offering a comfortable position for steady riding and frequent stops.

Many riders begin along the Literary Walk, passing beneath American elm trees before reaching the Bethesda Terrace and fountain. From here, it’s easy to slow down, park the bike and explore on foot before continuing north or south through the park. Popular stops include Sheep Meadow for skyline views and quieter sections around wooded paths and lakes.

With a longer hire, you can complete a full loop around the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, then exit the park to connect with the Hudson River Greenway. This riverside path runs along Manhattan’s west side and offers flat, uninterrupted cycling with views across the Hudson, making it a good extension for a half-day or full-day ride.

📍 Location

Central Park sits at the centre of Manhattan and is surrounded by some of the city’s busiest districts. Cycling inside the park provides a clear contrast to the surrounding streets, with wide carriageways, car-free sections and a steady flow designed to accommodate bikes.

The nearby Hudson River Greenway adds a second dimension to the ride, allowing you to leave the park and follow the river without navigating traffic-heavy avenues. Together, these routes form one of the most accessible and enjoyable cycling networks in New York City.

✅ Prerequisites

All riders must be able to ride a bicycle independently unless using an approved child attachment. Riders under 18 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.

Tag-a-longs and double trailers for toddlers are available on request at an additional cost. One government-issued photo ID is required and will be held as a deposit for the duration of the rental, with a credit card kept on file for bike security.
