• Building confidence with instructor guidance

✈️ What to Expect

Before heading to the helicopter, you'll meet your instructor at Sherburn-in-Elmet for a comprehensive briefing covering the aircraft, flight controls and the principles of helicopter flying. You'll learn how each control affects the helicopter and discover why hovering is considered one of the most challenging and rewarding flying skills.

During the lesson, your instructor will demonstrate the controls before inviting you to take over under close supervision. As your confidence builds, you'll experience the unique challenge of maintaining a hover, making small, precise control inputs while your instructor provides guidance throughout. The lesson is designed for complete beginners, so no previous flying experience is needed.

Unlike many introductory flying experiences, this lesson allows two additional passengers to join you in the rear seats of the Robinson R44 at no extra cost. If you later decide to continue with helicopter training, the time spent flying during this lesson can count towards your future pilot qualification.

Conveniently based in Sherburn-in-Elmet, North Yorkshire, the training airfield offers an ideal environment for learning to fly helicopters. Its quieter airspace means less waiting on the ground and more opportunity to focus on developing your flying skills.
