Experience Ibiza after sunset on a guided kayak adventure along the island's northeast coast. As daylight fades and the sea becomes calm, you'll paddle through secluded bays, discover hidden corners of the coastline and enjoy a completely different atmosphere from the island's daytime excursions. The highlight comes on the return journey, when the full moon rises directly from the sea, creating a memorable evening on the water.
Setting off from Es Figueral, you'll meet your guide, collect your equipment and take part in a short paddling lesson before launching onto the water. The route follows the coastline towards Pou des Lleó, passing locations including Racó de s'Aubadar, Ses Maioles and Punta des Llaüt, with opportunities to explore sea caves and hidden coastal features along the way.
Midway through the trip, you'll stop at a peaceful cove to relax with a drink and snack while enjoying the quieter side of Ibiza. As dusk settles across the coastline, the return paddle becomes even more special, with the changing colours of the sky gradually giving way to moonlight reflecting across the sea.
Eventually, the full moon rises above the Mediterranean horizon, creating a unique setting as you glide back towards Es Figueral. Combined with the calm evening conditions and peaceful surroundings, it makes for an unforgettable way to experience Ibiza's coastline.
Bordered by protected coastline and clear Mediterranean waters, Es Figueral is one of the best places on the island to experience kayaking away from the crowds. The northeast coast remains largely undeveloped compared to many other areas of Ibiza, offering a more natural setting for exploring by sea.
Stretching between hidden coves, rocky headlands and traditional fishing spots, the surrounding coastline forms part of a marine reserve known for its rich underwater environment. Its east-facing position also makes it an ideal location for watching the moon rise directly from the horizon over the sea.
Whether you're joining your first kayak trip or have paddled many times before, this excursion is suitable for a wide range of abilities. A full introduction is provided before departure, allowing everyone to feel comfortable on the water.
If you are pregnant or have any medical conditions or accessibility requirements, please let the team know before booking so they can provide appropriate guidance.
Combining coastal exploration with one of nature's most impressive sights, this experience offers something very different from a traditional daytime kayak tour. Rather than rushing between locations, the pace allows you to fully appreciate the changing light, calm waters and peaceful atmosphere of the evening.
Drawing on years of local guiding experience, Lauren and the team carefully plan each trip around the conditions and moonrise timing. Their knowledge of the coastline helps create a relaxed and enjoyable adventure while maintaining the highest standards of safety on the water.
Yes. The tour is designed to be accessible for first-time kayakers as well as those with previous experience. Before setting off, you'll receive a paddling lesson and safety briefing so you can feel comfortable handling the kayak.
The route follows a relaxed pace and includes regular stops, making it a great introduction to sea kayaking while still offering plenty to enjoy for more experienced paddlers.
No special level of fitness is required. The paddling is steady rather than strenuous, and there are opportunities to rest throughout the excursion.
Most guests find the experience comfortable, especially with the breaks included along the route. The focus is on exploring and enjoying the evening atmosphere rather than covering long distances.
The trip is scheduled specifically around the full moon, giving you the opportunity to watch it rise from the sea. On clear evenings, the view can be particularly impressive as the moon appears above the Mediterranean horizon.
As with any natural event, visibility depends on weather conditions and cloud cover. Even on cloudier evenings, the changing colours of dusk and the peaceful surroundings make the experience worthwhile.
Yes, the tour is suitable for all ages and is a popular choice for families looking for a unique evening activity in Ibiza.
The relaxed pace, calm waters and opportunities to explore caves and coves help keep younger adventurers engaged throughout the trip.
While many of the same coastal features can be explored, the atmosphere is completely different in the evening. The softer light, cooler temperatures and quieter surroundings create a much more peaceful experience on the water.
Watching the moon rise from the sea adds a unique element that simply can't be experienced during the day, making it one of the most memorable kayak trips available on the island.
It's recommended to bring water, swimwear, a towel, sun protection and footwear that can get wet. Even though the tour takes place later in the day, protection from the sun is still important during the early part of the trip.
Many guests also bring a light layer for after sunset, as temperatures can feel cooler once the sun has disappeared and the evening progresses.
