More and more bikes: Road / Gravel / MTB
We have a set of bikes of different types. Just let us know your needed and we will find the perfect bike for you.
Bikes are collected from a central Madrid base, easily reached by public transport and well-positioned for access to a wide network of trails and cycling routes. With a variety of landscapes just outside the city – from open plains and riversides to historical towns and farmlands – you can choose from a range of single-day or multi-day routes. Many suggested routes are rideable straight from the pick-up point or after a short train journey, making it easy to plan flexible cycling days without needing your own transport.
The area is well-known among local cyclists for its scenic gravel tracks, wide greenways, and historic regional loops. You’ll find plenty of places to stop for food, fill water bottles, or even stay overnight depending on your chosen route length.
The Princess's Journey – 490km / 4500m+
This long-distance loop runs through the Las Vegas region of Madrid and into La Alcarria, crossing rivers like the Tajo, Jarama and Henares, and passing through historic villages linked to Doña Ana de Mendoza y de la Cerda – the Princess of Éboli. Expect rolling terrain, quiet countryside, and cultural landmarks you won't find in guidebooks. The roads and trails wind through some of the lesser-seen corners of central Spain, ideal for riders looking for a multi-day experience off the beaten track.
The route connects peaceful farmland with historic enclaves, many of which offer local food and places to rest. Though it covers a large distance, the elevation is gradual, and e-bikes make it more accessible. With good planning, it’s possible to ride this as a loop with wild camping or overnight stops in small towns. A great option for adventurous riders who want to see a different side of Madrid's landscape and history.
Pinto – Toledo – 122km / 960+
This route can be completed in a single day by confident riders or spread across two days with an overnight stay in Toledo. Starting from Pinto, the path follows the Cañada Real through villages and farmland as it heads south towards the province of Toledo. The trail features mostly gentle gradients, except for a few short climbs near Bargas and Cerro Magán. Once in Toledo, you can explore the historic centre before beginning the return leg.
Ideal for gravel or e-bike riders, this route mixes fast tracks with scenic open land and occasional shaded woodland. It also has regular towns with food stops and water points. The views of Toledo from the approach are a highlight, and the ride back includes a dedicated bike path for an easier return. It’s suitable for those with moderate fitness and is especially rewarding for cyclists looking to combine riding with a bit of sightseeing.
Tajuña Greenway – 100km / 850+
This mostly paved route runs along the Green Route of the Community of Madrid, starting from Arganda del Rey and travelling through a chain of towns via a dedicated bike lane. It's signposted throughout and offers a smooth surface with very little elevation, making it one of the most accessible long-distance routes in the region. You can opt to begin in Morata de Tajuña to shorten the route to 70km.
It’s perfect for road bikes, gravel bikes and e-bikes alike, with plenty of places to stop for refreshments. Since the path avoids traffic and avoids muddy terrain even in wet weather, it’s a reliable year-round option. The scenery is more urban and agricultural compared to other routes, but still full of variety. If you're looking for a stress-free way to cover distance without needing advanced navigation or mountain bike skills, this is a great pick.
Riders should have some cycling experience, particularly if planning to cover longer distances or off-road trails. E-bikes make most routes accessible to intermediate riders, but gravel bikes are better suited to those with basic handling skills and the ability to manage longer durations in the saddle. Helmets are recommended, and extra care is advised on mixed-use trails.
The centre offers a small fleet of well-maintained bikes and is run by cyclists who know the area and its routes in detail. They’re available to recommend suitable rides based on your experience, preferred distance, and whether you're riding solo or with others. Bikes are set up for touring or day trips, and optional accessories such as bag sets or luggage storage make multi-day trips much easier.
Hiring locally lets you explore Madrid’s hidden countryside without the hassle of transporting your own bike. With excellent access to rail stations and route starting points, it’s a convenient and flexible way to explore one of Spain’s most overlooked cycling regions.
The E-Bike (Haibike Alltrack 5) is electrically assisted and designed for both road and off-road terrain. With a powerful 720Wh battery, it can cover over 120km on a single charge, making it an excellent choice for longer routes or riders who want support on climbs. It includes front suspension and hydraulic disc brakes, so it’s especially suited to mixed terrain and hilly countryside.
The Gravel Bike (Cannondale) is a lightweight, pedal-powered bike that’s perfect for cycle touring, gravel paths, and paved greenways. It doesn’t have electrical assistance but does feature wide-range gears, responsive handling and tyres built for mixed-surface riding. It’s best for riders with good base fitness who prefer a more traditional cycling experience.
Yes, both the E-Bike and Gravel Bike are available in small, medium and large sizes. During booking, you can specify your height or preferred frame size, and the team will ensure your bike is set up to suit you.
If you're unsure of your size, the centre can help advise based on your height and riding experience. When you collect the bike, adjustments to saddle height and handlebar position can be made on the spot for a more comfortable fit.
Yes, both bikes are suitable for beginners with basic cycling ability. The E-Bike is especially beginner-friendly thanks to the electric motor, which takes the strain off long climbs and helps maintain a steady pace even on tougher routes.
The Gravel Bike is best for those who are confident with gear shifting and riding longer distances, though it’s still a solid choice for riders who haven’t done a lot of off-road cycling. The centre can help recommend easier routes if you're just getting started.
Yes, many local trains in Madrid allow bikes onboard, especially on the Cercanías lines. Popular routes like the Pinto–Toledo loop or the Tajuña Greenway are easily accessible by rail, making it simple to start your ride outside the city centre.
The team can advise on which train stations are bike-friendly and help plan routes that begin or end at railway stops. This adds flexibility to your ride and allows you to explore areas further afield without needing a car.
All hires come with a basic repair kit, including a spare inner tube, pump and tyre levers. These tools cover most minor issues like flat tyres, so you're encouraged to carry them with you during the ride.
If you’re unfamiliar with roadside repairs or experience a more serious mechanical problem, you’ll need to call the hire centre for advice. While recovery isn't guaranteed, they’ll do their best to help troubleshoot remotely or suggest nearby services if needed.
Luggage storage may be available at the hire centre, but it’s subject to availability, so it’s best to request it in advance. This is useful if you’re heading out on a longer trip and don’t want to carry unnecessary items with you.
If you plan to take an overnight trip, you may want to bring bikepacking gear. Bag sets are sometimes available to hire – just let the team know when booking, and they’ll confirm if it's an option for your dates.
Jose was very friendly and helpful! The bikes he provided were great for the price, and we enjoyed a unique gravel bike adventure in Spain. There were very few other companies offering gravel bike rentals. I would 100% recommend this adventure with Jose to any travelers in Spain looking to…
