Stand-up boards go out from Mullion Harbour or Cadgwith, chosen the day before for wind. The booking is about three hours including changing, with time on a sheltered stretch before the coast opens out. Inflatable boards, wetsuits and buoyancy aids are included, and photos come with the session.
The day before we send the launch, parking and start time. On the day you kit up, hear a brief on the board, then paddle a sheltered stretch before the route follows the cliffs and coves. The guide stays with the least confident person and keeps the group together.
Please arrive 15 minutes early. Footwear that can get wet is required; bare feet are not allowed. Wind is the main reason we cancel or move. Light rain does not stop the session.
Sessions run from Mullion Harbour or Cadgwith on the Lizard Peninsula. The square at The Lizard, TR12 7NJ, is the area pin. You cannot pick the harbour when you book.
We send SMS and email with directions and parking. Both launches sit a short drive from the Lizard village.
No paddleboard experience is needed. You do need to be able to swim, as the tour is in open water. The minimum age is 14.
Bring swimwear, trainers or water shoes, a towel and any medication. Flip-flops are not accepted. Your own shorty or full-length wetsuit is fine.
An AALA-licensed team has run paddlesport on this peninsula for more than 20 years. The launch is chosen the day before so you are not leaving a harbour into a wind that does not work.
Boards are inflatable and stable, and photos come with the session. If you want the guide to yourselves, book the private Lizard paddleboard session instead.
The exact launch is confirmed the day before by SMS and email. It will be Mullion Harbour or Cadgwith.
Please arrive 15 minutes early. Follow the parking notes in that message.
Mullion Harbour or Cadgwith. We choose the day before based on wind, swell and sea state, then send directions and parking so you know where to leave the car.
You cannot pick the harbour when you book. Wait for that message rather than driving to a spot you have guessed, as the wrong cove can add a long walk with a board.
About three hours including changing and the brief. Time on the water is usually a little under that, depending on the group and the wind.
Arrive 15 minutes early so changing does not eat into the paddle time. If anything about the booking is unclear, send a message before you travel and we will sort it.
No. The first minutes are on a sheltered stretch so you can stand and paddle before the coast opens out. The guide stays with the least confident person.
If you already paddle, say so at the start so we can give you more coast and less first-stroke talk.
Fourteen. Open-ocean paddleboarding on this coast needs that age for balance, strength and judgment in wind and swell.
Younger children are better on a kayak tour, where they can share a double with an adult, or on a Mega SUP with the family from age 12.
Swimwear, trainers or water shoes, a towel, sunscreen and sunglasses. Flip-flops and bare feet are not accepted.
We supply the board, paddle, leash, wetsuit and buoyancy aid. Your own shorty or full-length suit is fine.
Yes. The tour is in open water. A buoyancy aid and leash are on the whole time, but you still need to be comfortable in the sea if you come off the board.
If anyone in the booking is unsure, tell us when you book rather than waiting until you are already at the water. We would rather move you than have you struggle on an open-coast paddle.
Light rain does not cancel a session. Wind is the main reason we move or cancel, because it affects balance and how far the group can travel. The other Lizard launch is the first option.
If we cancel, we rearrange. The day-before message is also when we confirm the sea is usable.
Yes. The guide takes pictures during the session and shares them afterwards. You do not need a phone on the board.
We cannot promise a shot of every cove. The priority is the group and the sea. Ask the guide at the end how the pictures will be sent, as that can change with the size of the group.
Yes. Solo bookers join other people on the same slot and have their own board, so you are not sharing a craft with a stranger.
If you want the guide to yourselves, book the private Lizard paddleboard session instead. That listing keeps the same launch and kit, just without other bookers on the water with you.
Quite possibly. Standing on an inflatable board in small swell is part of the session. The wetsuit and buoyancy aid stay on, and climbing back on is part of the brief.
If you would rather stay seated, say so at the start. The guide can keep you on your knees until you are ready to stand.

We had a great time. Fred was a great coach. Will definitely come again
Our instructor Harlyn was great! She is obviously really skilled and made sure we knew what to do and my daughter really learned a lot!
Steph was great, loved the lesson
Coasterring with Lizard adventure. Great day out. Rory was great with us. Got some sea snacks along the way. Great jumps for all levels. Saw the seals. All in all a great day out
I was impressed that Steve contacted me to ask if my adolescents would like a more adventurous experience and tailored the coasteering to them. They all had a great time - came back exhilarated and exhausted. Thanks also for taking some great photos
Chris and Chloe were great guides and coaches, and provided us a wonderfull experience.
We had the best time! There 5 in our group today and Ru was the best guide. He made sure everyone was safe, comfortable with the level of challenge and knowledgeable about the area, flora, and fauna. The views from the cliffs and water were absolutely stunning! I’m so glad…
We had a fab time with Steve guiding us. A wide range of abilities and Steve enabled us all to meet our challenges and succeed. Highly recommend this as an amazing activity. Thumbs up for Steve. Thank you.
