Take on a mix of climbing, swimming, scrambling and optional cliff jumps with this coasteering session on Mallorca’s eastern coastline. With a zip line or abseil finish and expert guides on hand, this is a fast-moving, high-energy way to explore the coast from a whole new angle.
After meeting your guide and getting kitted up in safety gear, you’ll begin the session with a short walk to the starting point. The route hugs the coastline and includes a blend of natural rock features, swim-throughs, ledges, and cliff faces to climb. You’ll scramble over rocks, wade through the shallows, and swim between sections as you move along the shoreline.
Throughout the activity, there are various challenges designed to suit different comfort levels. You might start with basic rock traverses before progressing to optional jumps and a controlled descent—either by zip line or abseil, depending on the day's conditions. The guides are always nearby to coach, support, and keep things safe and fun.
What sets this east coast route apart is the variation in terrain and the flexibility to adapt to each group. There’s a mix of exposed rocky points and more sheltered inlets, so it’s suitable for different sea conditions and experience levels. Whether you’re up for big jumps or just looking for an adventurous day outdoors, the layout and design of the session allows everyone to take part in their own way.
Cala Provençals, on the quieter eastern side of Mallorca, offers a scenic setting with rocky outcrops, turquoise waters, and fewer crowds than the more tourist-heavy areas. It’s well known for its unspoilt coastline and is a popular spot for outdoor adventure with a wild feel.
Easily accessible by car from areas like Artà or Cala Ratjada, the location offers a real sense of escape without needing to travel far. With a mix of vertical cliffs and more forgiving terrain, it’s an ideal base for coasteering routes that combine challenge with accessibility.
You don’t need to have done anything like this before, but you should be happy in the sea and able to swim short distances. Confidence in open water and moving over uneven ground will help you enjoy the session more fully.
The minimum age is 10, and all participants must be in general good health. Everything technical is explained clearly on the day, so all you really need is decent mobility, a willingness to try something new, and a pair of trainers that can get soaked.
This activity is run by a team of experienced and highly trained outdoor instructors who are used to working with mixed ability groups. Their knowledge of the island, the tides and local geography means every session runs smoothly and safely.
Fully accredited by international tour operators and regularly reviewed, this outfit is trusted by families, schools, and private groups for offering reliable, exciting and well-organised adventure experiences across Mallorca. With a focus on flexibility and safety, they make sure every group gets a session that’s both memorable and fun.
Participants should have a reasonable level of fitness, as the activity involves scrambling over rocks, swimming short distances, and climbing. While the pace is adjusted to suit the group, being comfortable with moderate physical activity will make the experience more enjoyable.
If you have any medical conditions or concerns about your fitness, it’s best to discuss these with the organisers before booking. The guides are trained to adapt the session to accommodate different abilities, but basic mobility and stamina are important.
No previous coasteering or climbing experience is needed. The guides will provide full instructions and safety briefings before and during the session. Each challenge is introduced progressively, allowing participants to build confidence step-by-step.
All technical elements like abseiling or zip lining are carefully supervised, with clear demonstrations to ensure everyone understands what to expect. This makes it accessible for beginners and those new to adventure sports.
Safety is the top priority, so guides monitor weather and sea conditions closely. If conditions become unsafe, the session may be rescheduled or an alternative route chosen. Participants will be informed as soon as possible if any changes are necessary.
Light rain generally doesn’t affect the activity, but strong winds or rough seas may lead to cancellations or alterations. The guides always aim to provide a great experience while maintaining strict safety standards.
No, many of the elements such as jumps, abseiling or zip lining are optional. The guides encourage participants to try new challenges but never force anyone to do anything beyond their comfort level.
Alternative routes and exits are always available, so you can take part at your own pace and skip any sections you don’t feel ready for. The session focuses on enjoyment and personal achievement.
Bring swimwear to wear underneath the wetsuit and a towel for after the session. Water shoes are provided.
It’s also wise to bring sunscreen and a change of clothes for afterwards. Avoid bringing valuables or electronics unless they are waterproof and securely mounted.
The minimum age is 10 years old, and younger participants must be confident swimmers and comfortable in open water. The session is adapted to suit families, with challenges scaled to ensure safety and fun for all ages.
Children must be accompanied by an adult who takes responsibility for them during the activity. The guides are experienced in working with mixed-age groups and create a supportive environment for younger adventurers.
