Cycle through Barcelona’s lively streets and discover the city’s culinary soul on this guided eBike tour. Over three hours, you’ll visit four of Barcelona’s most historic markets, sampling local delicacies and learning about the city’s vibrant food culture. With a small group and a local guide leading the way, this experience blends sightseeing, tasting, and easy cycling into a relaxed and flavour-packed adventure.
Your tour begins in the Gothic Quarter, where you’ll meet your guide and collect your eBike, helmet, and lock. After a short safety briefing, the group sets off through the winding medieval streets that lead to the city’s first stop — Mercat de la Boqueria. Famous for its colourful stalls and buzzing atmosphere, this market offers your first tasting: freshly pressed natural juices made from seasonal fruits. As you sip, you’ll hear stories of the market’s origins and its role in Barcelona’s culinary traditions.
From there, the route continues to Mercat de Santa Caterina, easily recognised by its striking wave-shaped roof. Here, you’ll enjoy a tasting of local cheeses and charcuterie while exploring the market’s lively aisles filled with regional produce and artisanal goods. The ride then takes you to Mercat dels Encants, one of Europe’s oldest open-air markets. Though known for antiques and crafts rather than food, it showcases the city’s creative spirit and community energy — a perfect contrast to the traditional food markets.
Your final stop is Mercat de Sant Antoni, where modern design meets classic Catalan architecture. This beautifully restored market is the setting for a selection of tapas that reflect Barcelona’s diverse flavours and culinary flair. After some time to relax and enjoy the tastings, you’ll make your way back to the Gothic Quarter, cycling through charming backstreets and lively plazas before returning your eBike — a satisfying finish to a day of culture, flavour, and discovery.
Starting and ending in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, this tour offers a deep dive into Barcelona’s character and rhythm. Surrounded by medieval architecture, narrow streets, and centuries of history, it’s the ideal base for setting out to explore the city’s market culture. The Gothic Quarter’s central position also makes it easy to reach other key neighbourhoods during your ride.
The route takes you through a mix of districts, from the bustling Ramblas area to the modernist touches near Sant Antoni. Each stop reveals something unique — whether it’s the architecture, the people, or the local flavours — giving you a complete and authentic view of everyday life in Barcelona.
Participants should feel comfortable cycling independently in an urban setting. The route includes cycle lanes and quiet streets, keeping it suitable for most ability levels. Helmets are included and must be worn at all times during the ride.
While eBikes provide smooth assistance, a basic level of fitness and confidence is still recommended. Riders should wear closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather. Anyone with dietary restrictions is encouraged to advise in advance so tasting alternatives can be arranged where possible.
Every tour is carefully designed and personally tested to guarantee high standards of quality and enjoyment. The guides are locals who share not just facts, but stories — connecting food, history, and community in an engaging way. Their approachable style ensures everyone feels part of the experience, whether it’s your first visit to Barcelona or your tenth.
The focus is always on personal service and thoughtful details. From the comfort of your eBike to the authenticity of each tasting stop, everything is chosen to provide a seamless, genuine encounter with Barcelona’s markets. It’s more than a food tour — it’s an insight into the city’s daily life and the flavours that define it.
No advanced cycling experience is required. The eBikes used are easy to handle and provide pedal assistance, making it comfortable even for those who haven’t ridden in a while. As long as you can balance and steer a regular bicycle, you’ll be able to enjoy the ride with confidence.
The pace is relaxed, and the route follows mainly flat streets and designated cycle lanes. Your guide will always be nearby to offer support and ensure everyone feels comfortable navigating the urban areas.
Each participant receives a high-quality electric bicycle equipped with pedal-assist technology, allowing you to adjust the level of effort you use while riding. The bikes feature comfortable saddles, smooth gear shifting, and reliable brakes, perfect for a day of urban exploration.
Before departure, staff will adjust the bike to your height and explain how to use it safely. You’ll also receive a helmet and lock, ensuring both comfort and peace of mind during your experience.
Yes, all tastings are included in the tour price. You’ll enjoy three distinct tasting experiences across different markets — freshly pressed natural juices at La Boqueria, a mix of local cheeses and cured meats at Santa Caterina, and a variety of tapas at Sant Antoni.
The tastings are carefully chosen to represent authentic Catalan and Mediterranean flavours. Vegetarian options may be available upon request, though advance notice is appreciated to accommodate dietary preferences.
This tour is designed to be accessible for most fitness levels. The electric assist on the bikes means you can control how much effort you put in, making it easy to cruise through the city without feeling tired.
There are frequent breaks for food tastings and sightseeing, so the cycling portions are never overly strenuous. It’s an ideal experience for those looking to enjoy Barcelona’s atmosphere without needing high endurance.
Comfortable clothing suited for cycling is recommended, along with closed-toe shoes for safety. Depending on the weather, you may also want a lightweight jacket or sunscreen. Helmets are provided, so there’s no need to bring your own unless you prefer to.
A small backpack is useful for carrying personal items, a water bottle, and your camera or smartphone. Since you’ll be visiting food markets, you might also want some space for small purchases or local treats.
The tour operates in most weather conditions, including light rain, with ponchos provided if needed. Routes may be adjusted slightly for comfort or safety, ensuring the experience remains enjoyable.
If the weather becomes unsuitable for cycling — such as during heavy rain or thunderstorms — the tour may be rescheduled or cancelled. In that case, you’ll have the option to rebook or receive a full refund according to the cancellation policy.
Absolutely — just let the organiser know in advance about any dietary restrictions or food allergies. The team will make every effort to provide suitable alternatives where possible.
Since the tour visits authentic local markets, some tastings may include traditional ingredients such as cured meats, cheeses, or nuts. Early notice helps ensure your experience remains safe and enjoyable.
Group sizes are kept small, with a maximum of 12 participants per guide. This ensures a more personal and interactive experience, allowing everyone to ask questions and enjoy a comfortable pace.
Smaller groups also make it easier to navigate Barcelona’s streets and markets while maintaining a friendly, social atmosphere. You’ll have time to chat with your guide and fellow riders between stops.
Unlike a standard eBike tour, this experience connects culture and cuisine through the city’s historic markets. You’ll taste, ride, and learn — gaining a deeper understanding of Barcelona’s food traditions and neighbourhood life.
Every stop tells a story, from the ancient origins of La Boqueria to the modern revival of Sant Antoni. Combined with the ease of eBike travel, it’s a genuine insight into Barcelona’s living culture rather than just a sightseeing route.
