A guided two-hour quad convoy above the Costa del Sol lets you share a two-seat machine with a friend or partner while our team leads the way through the Mijas hills. The session suits guests who want a fuller ride with time for scenery, photo stops and a comfortable pace that still fits neatly into a day at the beach.
After check-in and helmet fitting, your guide runs through controls and convoy rules, then gives you practice time in a safe area before heading into the hills. On trail you will ride a mix of surfaces, reach wider viewpoints and pause several times to stretch, drink water and photograph the landscape without feeling rushed.
Throughout the ride we keep a steady pace that suits the least experienced rider in the group, and your guide reads the trail ahead, signals hazards and explains what you are seeing so the focus stays on enjoyment and the views rather than speed.
Our base in Las Lagunas de Mijas puts you at the doorway to hill tracks that climb away from the coastal resorts within minutes, and Fuengirola, Marbella and Málaga city are all practical starting points for a morning or afternoon session. Pine forest, open valleys and ridges replace resort streets quickly once the convoy leaves the yard.
Up here the air often feels cooler, the roads are quieter and the panoramas open toward both mountains and sea, which makes the ride a refreshing contrast to a week spent on the sand.
Drivers must present a full Category B licence at registration, because provisional licences cannot be used on guided routes and we check documents before helmets are issued. Passengers should be comfortable sitting on the quad for two hours outdoors with sun, wind and dust as part of the experience.
Come in closed shoes, bring sunscreen and carry plenty of water for time on the trails, and consider a bandana on dusty days because you can pick one up at the base if you forget. Gloves are optional but some riders like them for grip on the handlebars.
We have refined this loop over years of guiding thousands of riders, so timing, stops and trail choice feel smooth rather than rushed, and mechanics service the fleet between departures. Our guides train for clear communication in English and Spanish, which matters when you are briefing mixed groups on safety and route rules.
From the first handshake to the final photo stop, we want you to feel looked after, and many guests tell us this session gave them the adventure they wanted while still leaving plenty of time to enjoy the rest of their day on the coast.
You have enough time on the trails to settle into the ride, see varied viewpoints and enjoy several photo stops without watching the clock, and couples and friends still book a single two-seat quad so the experience feels personal even when several machines travel in convoy.
Your guide sets the pace for the whole group, explains the route as you go and adjusts stops to the weather and how everyone is riding, so beginners and confident riders can share the same departure comfortably.
We welcome first-time riders every week and build the pace around the group, because the briefing and practice yard exist so nobody feels thrown onto difficult terrain without preparation. Tell your guide how you are feeling and we will adjust spacing and stops so you stay comfortable while still seeing the best scenery.
There is no expectation to ride fast or tackle jumps, and our guides are used to nervous drivers who simply want a memorable hour or two in the hills with clear instructions at every stage.
Closed sports shoes, sun cream and plenty of water are the essentials for two hours outside on exposed tracks, and gloves are optional though some riders like them for grip on dusty handlebars. Secure anything in zipped pockets and leave unnecessary valuables at your accommodation so you can focus on the trail.
A light snack in your pocket is fine if you think you will want it between stops, and older clothes are sensible because dust can settle on fabric even when the day looks calm at the coast.
We plan several safe pull-offs with views toward the coast and inland valleys, and your guide will let you know when it is fine to take pictures and when to keep both hands on the controls for rougher sections. If you want a particular shot with your quad in frame, ask at a stop and we will suggest angles that show the landscape at its best.
Those pauses are also when we check everyone has water, tighten straps if needed and regroup before the next leg, so the convoy stays organised and relaxed throughout the ride.
Friends and families often book several quads for the same time slot and travel in one guided group, and each machine still has its own driver and passenger arrangement with the same safety briefing for everyone. We coordinate departures so the convoy stays together and nobody is left behind on unfamiliar tracks.
If you are celebrating a birthday or organising a stag or hen outing, tell us when you book so we can note the group size and assign enough guides for a smooth departure.
Light drizzle does not always stop us, but we will change or delay the start if trails become slippery or visibility drops, because your guide makes that call on the day with safety as the priority. We will reach out if the forecast looks poor so you are not driving to us unnecessarily, and we can often move you to a better slot the same week.
Wet dust can turn to slick mud on some corners, so we may shorten a loop or stick to firmer tracks until conditions improve, and we would rather reschedule than push ahead on ground that feels unsafe.
Fuel and standard preparation are included in your session, and you will not be asked for an extra payment when you return the quad to the yard. Our crew fuels and checks vehicles between groups so you arrive to a machine that is ready to ride with mirrors adjusted and tyres inspected.
If you notice a warning light or unusual vibration during the briefing, mention it immediately so we can swap equipment before the group leaves the base.
Twenty minutes before your slot is ideal for paperwork, licences and helmets, because that way your two hours reflect real riding time on the hills rather than admin squeezed into the start. On peak days parking fills quickly, so allow a few extra minutes to find a space and walk to check-in.
Arriving on time also helps us brief the whole group together, which makes the convoy safer and more enjoyable once you are on the trails.
You follow the guide in order and keep a safe gap to the quad in front, because the route is shared with nature and sometimes other users and disciplined riding keeps everyone safe. We are here for the views and the experience, not for racing or stunts, and guides will pause the group if spacing rules are ignored.
That convoy style also protects the trails from unnecessary damage and keeps dust manageable for riders behind you, which is part of how we operate responsibly in the Mijas countryside.
Our team works with international visitors every day and briefings are given in clear English as well as Spanish, so if you need something repeated you can ask without hesitation. Hand signals and pace setting are kept simple so the whole group understands what is happening on the trail even when the wind makes conversation harder.
Many of our guides live locally and enjoy sharing stories about the area during photo stops, which adds context to the views you are seeing above the Costa del Sol.
