Experience the Amazon from a unique perspective on a 4-hour tree climbing adventure. Guided by experienced instructors, you will ascend giant trees and observe the lush rainforest canopy, home to orchids, bromeliads, and a variety of birds and wildlife. This activity combines adventure, learning, and a close encounter with the forest’s hidden ecosystem.
The tour begins with hotel pick-up in Manaus, followed by a short drive to a protected forest area in Tarumã APA. Upon arrival, participants are briefed on climbing techniques, safety protocols, and the equipment provided, including harnesses and ropes.
Climbing sessions are done under the supervision of professional guides, who assist in securing the ropes and offer hands-on tips for ascending and descending safely. Participants will reach heights of approximately 40 meters, where the panoramic view of the Rio Negro and surrounding forest becomes visible.
While at the canopy, guides point out the unique flora and fauna, including orchids, bromeliads, and various bird species. You’ll have the chance to pause and observe how life thrives high above the forest floor, gaining an appreciation for this complex and vibrant ecosystem.
The tree climbing activity is set within the Tarumã APA, a protected forest reserve on the outskirts of Manaus. This area offers a relatively untouched section of rainforest, with tall Angelin trees that provide excellent climbing opportunities and stunning natural surroundings.
Participants are transported from their hotels in Manaus to the forest site by bilingual drivers. The forest location is selected for safety, accessibility, and views, ensuring a rewarding and immersive climbing experience.
Climbers should be in good health and free of serious knee, back, or heart conditions. Comfortable clothing suitable for movement and a pair of closed-toe shoes are required.
This activity is suitable for ages 12 and above. No prior climbing experience is necessary, and participants are guided and supported throughout the ascent and descent. Individual insurance is required to participate.
Expert guides lead all climbs, providing detailed instruction, safety support, and personalised guidance throughout the session. Their knowledge of the rainforest enhances the experience, offering insights into tree species, wildlife, and the forest canopy ecosystem.
The centre emphasises safety while delivering an unforgettable adventure in a relatively untouched section of the Amazon.
