Combine stand-up paddleboarding with a stronger yoga and fitness flow on the Atlantic off Arguineguín, where stable boards and small groups let you work on core, balance, and breath in the open air. Over about two hours you paddle to calm water, then move through faster-paced sequences that raise your heart rate without losing the calm of being on the sea.
Once everyone has kit at Las Marañuelas, a paddle warm-up on flat water leads into anchored boards that become your floating studio. Expect sun salutation variations, core work, and balance challenges with regressions if you need them, always with water and sky as your backdrop.
The class finishes with stretching on the beach and GoPro photos when conditions allow. Arrive about 15 minutes early, bring swimwear and water, and share t-shirt size, health notes, and weight when you book so boards suit riders up to 120 kg.
Arguineguín's south-coast bays give warm water and clear sight lines for fitness on the board, with straightforward access from Maspalomas and Puerto Rico. Training here feels like a holiday workout with real sea air rather than a gym floor.
Breezy conditions can mean a nearby alternate launch on the same coastline, chosen to keep the group in flatter water. Sessions still launch on the Atlantic, but routes favour stable conditions for active movement.
Reasonable general fitness helps because the flow is more energetic than a gentle SUP yoga class, though beginners who are active on land often manage well with modifications. Children from age eight can join when an adult is responsible for them on the water.
Mention injuries, health concerns, or weight over 120 kg when you book so boards and pose options are prepared. Request a life jacket if that makes you more confident during the paddle segments.
Training on the board is led by a coach with SUP, yoga, and fitness credentials plus first-aid training, so you get clear cues on form whether you are new to boards or regular in the gym. Boards are selected for stability during stronger balance poses, and group size stays manageable for corrections.
Full kit, insurance, and optional buoyancy aids are included, so you can treat the session as a unique outdoor workout. Guests often follow it with a slower yoga class or coastal tour on another day.
On the sand at Las Marañuelas you collect kit, hear safety points, and paddle out with light strokes to raise your heart rate before the main flow. Leashes and paddle length are checked for everyone in the group.
With boards steadied, you work through a fitness-focused yoga sequence that challenges balance and core, with easier options whenever you need a break. Coaching emphasises breath and safe alignment above speed.
You paddle back at an easy pace, enjoy GoPro photos when it is safe, and finish with stretches on the beach to loosen shoulders and hips after the session. Kit is rinsed and returned before you head off.
SUP Fit Yoga is more athletic, with longer holds, core work, and a faster pace than the gentler taster yoga session on the board. You still get coaching and modifications, but expect to feel like you have worked out as well as stretched.
If you prefer a slower introduction, book the standard SUP Yoga session first and try this class once you know how the board feels underfoot.
Active holidaymakers and gym-goers usually enjoy the pace, while complete beginners can join if they are comfortable trying planks and squats on a slightly unstable surface. Your coach offers easier versions whenever you need them.
Mention any injuries or recent surgery when you book so the flow can be adapted on the water and you still leave feeling challenged but not overwhelmed.
Swimwear, a towel, and drinking water are essential, plus reef-safe sunscreen applied before you arrive. A rash guard is provided, and you can request a life jacket when you book.
Share your t-shirt size in checkout questions and bring a change of clothes for after the beach stretch so you are comfortable heading back to your hotel.
Children from age eight may join when an adult stays responsible for them on the water, though the pace suits older children and teens better than very young paddlers. The adult can simplify movements while the teen follows the main flow.
Share ages when you book so the coach can judge whether this product or a gentler class fits better and reserve boards that suit younger riders.
Sessions start at Playa de Las Marañuelas in Arguineguín unless your confirmation says otherwise. Arrive about 15 minutes early for kit handout and briefing.
If wind makes the main beach unsuitable, your coach will send you to the alternate launch point nearby and confirm the pin by message before you travel.
Safety comes first. If conditions are unsafe before the session starts, you will be offered a new date or a full refund according to the published cancellation terms.
If conditions change after the activity has begun, the provider may continue with a voucher to rebook within one year rather than a cash refund, as set out in their conditions.
Yes. Board, paddle, leash, and rash guard are included, along with instructor time and insurance. Life jackets and waterproof bags are available on request.
You only need personal swimwear, towel, and water for the workout on the sea, and kit is sized from your checkout answers when possible.
Boards are rated up to 120 kg following manufacturer guidance. Provide your weight in booking questions so a stable board is reserved for balance poses.
If you are close to the limit, wider boards are used to keep movements safer on the water and your coach can suggest kneeling options during tougher sequences.
GoPro photos are captured when conditions allow, often during the stronger poses or the paddle back toward shore. They are included in the price.
If spray or wind makes filming unsafe, your coach will tell you at the beach and you can still enjoy the session without camera time on the water.
Up to twelve people can book, though many sessions are smaller so corrections are easier during fitness sequences. Private bookings are possible on request.
Solo travellers can join an existing slot when one is scheduled, and the instructor will still offer regressions so you are not left struggling on the board.
Sobre el centro
Arguineguín
You'll find calm Atlantic water and year-round sunshine on the south coast of Gran Canaria, where stand-up paddleboarding sits alongside yoga and fitness on the board. Sessions are built for beginners as much as regular paddlers: stable boards, clear briefings, and small groups so you can stand up, breathe, and enjoy the coastline without rushing.
Your instructor brings certified coaching in SUP, SUP yoga, and SUP fitness, with first-aid training and a focus on how you feel on the water as much as technique. Whether you want a first lesson, a guided tour, a yoga flow on the board, or a hire to explore at your own pace, the aim is the same: time on the sea that leaves you balanced, confident, and connected to the moment.
