Gain essential skills to handle stress and respond to emergencies with confidence. This programme combines classroom learning, practical pool exercises, and open-water scenarios, equipping you with the tools to enhance safety for yourself and others. Upon completion, you'll achieve the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty certification, opening doors to more advanced diving opportunities.
The programme includes six academic sessions, three confined water sessions, and three open-water dives.
Day 1 – Academic Sessions
The day begins with classroom-based learning, covering stress management, accident prevention, and emergency response theories. You'll use SSI materials to understand the principles behind recognising stress and applying practical solutions.
Day 2 – Confined Water Training
In the pool, you’ll practise techniques such as managing a panicked diver, towing an unresponsive diver, and using rescue equipment. This is a safe environment to refine your skills under the guidance of professional instructors.
Day 3 – Open Water Scenarios
At our selected dive sites, you’ll apply your training in real-world settings. This includes simulated emergency situations, rescue drills, and teamwork exercises. By the end of the session, you'll have gained the skills and confidence to handle stress and emergencies underwater.
