If it’s been a few months since your last dive, these sessions help you get back in the water with confidence. You’ll refresh essential skills, practise safe underwater techniques, and rebuild comfort with your gear. By the end, you’ll be ready to enjoy your next open water dives without worry.
You start with a briefing where instructors go over safety and equipment checks. They’ll show you how to use your gear poolside so you feel completely comfortable before hitting the water.
In the pool, you’ll practise breathing, mask clearing, and controlling your buoyancy. You can also try some fun underwater navigation exercises, with instructors giving tips to make sure you’re in control and feeling confident.
Then you’ll move to open water for at least one dive. Open water sessions can be held at any of the following locations: Capernwray quarry (max depth 22m), Ellerton inland lake (max depth 7m), Beadnell Bay shore dive (max depth 7m), Eyemouth boat dives (max depth 30+m), or Farne Islands boat dives (max depth 30+m). Instructors give feedback throughout, helping you fine-tune your technique and enjoy the experience.
Pool sessions take place in a heated 25m indoor pool at Seaton Valley High School, Seaton Delaval. Calm water lets you focus on refreshing your skills without outside distractions, with exclusive access to ensure a safe learning environment.
Open water dives use a selection of sites suitable for different skill levels and experiences. Facilities vary from easy water access with showers at Ellerton and Capernwray, to top-tier marine reserves like Eyemouth and the Farne Islands with boats and exciting wrecks, ensuring a diverse and rewarding experience.
You need a valid scuba certification, and ideally it’s been at least a few months since your last dive. This session is designed to get you back into diving safely rather than teaching brand-new skills.
Instructors will pace everything to suit you, helping you rebuild confidence and polish your techniques. You’ll leave feeling comfortable with your gear and ready for your next adventure.
Small group sessions let you get personal attention from experienced instructors who know how to get you feeling confident fast. You’ll get tips, corrections, and encouragement every step of the way.
With both pool and open water practice, you’ll refresh your skills in a controlled, safe, and enjoyable environment. Our structured approach makes sure you leave ready for real-world dives, fully confident with your techniques.
