Open water dives allow you to experience Nitrox in a real environment, practising dive planning, monitoring oxygen exposure, and managing enriched air safely. These sessions are tailored to your experience, with instructors ensuring you can integrate theory and practice effectively.
Theory sessions take place at the Gosforth dive centre (NE3 2HY), with optional confined water dives at the 25m indoor heated pool in Seaton Delaval, Whitley Bay (Elsdon Ave, NE25 0BP). Open water dives are held at selected UK sites such as Capernwray Quarry, Ellerton Lake, or Beadnell Bay, depending on experience and conditions.
Each site offers a safe and controlled environment ideal for practising Nitrox analysis and dive planning, giving you confidence in both equipment handling and dive execution.
An Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent) is required, along with a basic understanding of dive planning and equipment use. No prior Nitrox experience is needed — the course is structured to make enriched air diving straightforward.
