Discover the Mediterranean from below the surface with a guided scuba diving session in Nice. Designed for beginners, this first dive experience requires no certification and includes full equipment, boat transfer and individual supervision in calm coastal waters.
Your experience begins at the port in Nice, where you’ll meet your instructor and receive a detailed safety briefing. Equipment is fitted on land before boarding the boat. The short transfer takes you to a selected dive site in either the Bay of Villefranche or nearby coastal waters, chosen according to conditions.
For first-time divers, the session follows a structured “baptême” format. You will enter the water alongside your instructor, who remains with you at all times. Descent is gradual, with depth limited to a maximum of 6 metres. The focus is on comfort, breathing control and relaxed exploration rather than depth or distance.
Once settled underwater, you’ll explore rocky reefs and seagrass areas known for Mediterranean biodiversity. Common sightings include octopus, groupers, moray eels and schools of smaller reef fish. After approximately 20–40 minutes in the water depending on individual comfort and conditions, you return to the boat and head back to port.
Departure is from Traverse Lympia in Nice. The dive sites are located in the Bay of Villefranche or nearby coastal zones selected for visibility and marine life.
The bay is known for relatively sheltered conditions and clear water, making it suitable for beginner sessions. Exact sites are chosen based on weather and sea state to prioritise safety and visibility.
Participants must be in good general health and comfortable in the water. A medical condition affecting lungs, heart or ears may require medical clearance before diving.
Flying is not permitted within 12 hours after diving. Swimsuit and towel must be brought by the participant. This activity is not suitable for those with certain medical restrictions, and instructor approval is required before entering the water.
We focus on controlled, individual supervision for first dives rather than group-led descents. Each beginner is accompanied closely by an instructor to ensure confidence and safety throughout the session.
