Cape Town drops away as you lift off for 45 minutes over mountain and shoreline. Hotel pickup and a short safety briefing keep the outing simple, and no flying experience is needed.
Once the crew have run the safety brief, fitted headsets and assigned seats, you board a small helicopter and lift off from the Cape Town pad. The route typically takes in Table Mountain, Lion's Head, Camps Bay and the Peninsula shoreline, flown as a steady scenic circuit rather than aerobatics. Exact timing can move with weather and airspace, and the cabin holds up to four so small groups can often fly together.
You land back at the same pad and transfer to your hotel. The airborne window is about 45 minutes, with ground time for pickup, briefing and return. Window seats make it easy to watch harbour, beach suburbs and the mountain massif in one pass.
From the air, harbour suburbs and a long Atlantic shoreline wrap around a flat-topped mountain. Cape Town's layout becomes obvious in minutes: city, beaches and the Peninsula ridges sit close together rather than spread across a long drive.
Flying this stretch shows cliffs and bays that are hard to read from the road. The flight stays over landmark mountain and coastline rather than a generic loop inland.
Passengers need no flying hours. You should be comfortable sitting secured in a small aircraft and following a short boarding brief. The minimum age is 18.
Tell the team about mobility needs and party size so seating can be planned. If anyone is very uneasy with heights or small aircraft, ask the team so they can set expectations clearly.
What began as short outings near Cape Town and Johannesburg has grown into scenic flights as well as reserve days, still with a small-team approach. Professional pilots handle the operational side while you watch the views, and hotel transfer keeps the day simple from door to pad.
The team are members of the Africa Tourism Association and SATSA, and they keep planning personal from the first enquiry through to the journey home. Guides and coordinators work in English, Spanish and French.
Your driver collects you from your Cape Town hotel or agreed point and transfers you to the helipad. Use the journey to settle in, check your phone is charged, and leave loose items secured.
On arrival you wait clear of the pad until the crew is ready for the briefing.
Meet the crew for a short safety briefing, headset fit and seat assignment. When the pad is clear and conditions are good, you board and prepare for lift-off.
Follow crew instructions around the aircraft and keep heads low until you are seated and strapped in.
Fly over Table Mountain, Lion's Head, Camps Bay and the Cape Peninsula shoreline. The pilot keeps the route scenic and steady so you can take in the coast and ridges.
The exact order of sights can vary with weather and airspace. Window views make it easy to photograph the mountain and bays if you can hold a camera securely.
Return to the helipad, step down carefully clear of the rotor area, and transfer back toward your hotel or drop-off point.
Keep headsets and loose clothing secured until the crew says it is safe to move away from the aircraft.
Hotel pickup is available in Cape Town. The team confirms your collection time and takes you to the helipad for boarding.
If your hotel sits outside the usual pickup area, you will receive a clear meeting point instead. Wear closed shoes, keep your phone to hand, and leave loose hats secured so nothing flies free near the rotor wash.
Yes. This flight is for guests aged 18 and over. Tell the team the ages in your party when you enquire so they can confirm seating.
The cabin holds a limited number of passengers, so groups should confirm the full party size early and say if you want to fly together in one lift.
No flying experience is needed. You board as a passenger, buckle in, wear a headset and enjoy the views while the pilot flies the route.
If anyone in your group is uneasy with heights or small aircraft, mention it so the team can set expectations clearly.
Hotel pickup is available for most stays in Cape Town. The team confirms collection timing and takes you to the helipad for boarding.
If your hotel sits outside the usual pickup zone, you will receive a clear meeting point instead. Keep your phone on in case traffic or weather shifts the schedule.
Plan for around 45 minutes in the air, plus transfer and briefing time on the ground. Exact timing can move with weather and airspace on the day.
Arrive ready to board promptly after the safety brief so you make the most of the airborne window.
Typical landmarks include Table Mountain, Lion's Head, Camps Bay and the Cape Peninsula coastline. The pilot adjusts the path for safety and visibility.
The exact order of sights can vary, but the focus stays on mountain and shoreline views rather than aerobatics.
Helicopter flights need suitable weather and visibility. If conditions are unsafe, the team will be in touch and may move you to another time rather than force a flight.
Check your messages the evening before and the morning of your date. Coastal winds and haze can change quickly around Cape Town.
The experience includes hotel transfer for most Cape Town stays, a short safety briefing, headset use and the scenic flight with professional pilots.
Personal travel insurance, meals, tips and any add-ons sold separately are usually left to you on the day.
Group size is capped at four on this product, with cabin seating limited per lift. Couples and small groups fit well when the seating plan allows.
Tell the team if you want to fly together in one lift so they can plan the boarding order around cabin space.
Bring identification if the team has asked you to, or ask them to confirm what they need before your date. Some flights ask for a passport or other photo ID at the pad.
They will be in touch with any extra checks so you are not caught short. Keep documents in a secure pocket rather than a loose bag near the rotor wash.
Yes for most visitors aged 18 and over who are comfortable sitting in a small aircraft. The flight is scenic rather than a training lesson.
If you want a quieter cabin feel, ask about seating and party size when you confirm your group so expectations match the day.
