The lower Mrežnica is a softer river day than the canyon kayak or the packraft, aimed at beginners and families who want moving water without a hard rapid. You meet at the base house in Zvečaj, transfer up to Generalski Stol for the briefing, then raft or kayak down through the protected Significant Landscape of Mrežnica. Children from six can join, and there is time to swim and jump at the falls before you finish back near Zeleni kut.
You'll meet us at the base house in Zvečaj, then we run you upstream to Generalski Stol and put you on a raft or a kayak for the lower Mrežnica. It's a gentler stretch than the canyon or the packraft: travertine falls, warmer pools, and time to actually enjoy the water rather than fight it.
You're usually paddling by mid-morning, with swims and optional jumps at the falls along the way. We finish by the restaurant at Zeleni kut around lunchtime. Food there is your call and not in the price, and you can change before you drive back towards Karlovac or Zagreb.
Zvečaj sits on the lower Mrežnica near Duga Resa, postcode 47250, in Karlovačka county. The river here is a protected landscape of travertine falls and calmer pools, and summer water can be warm enough that swimming is a real part of the day. Karlovac and Duga Resa are the practical towns for a bed, fuel and a meal after you come off the water.
The put-in is at Generalski Stol after a short transfer from the base, and the take-out is back in Zvečaj. You will need your own transport to the base unless you book the Zagreb transfer rate. Parking is at the village house, not at the mid-river falls.
No rafting or kayaking experience is required. Children from six are welcome with a parent or responsible adult, and the water is chosen because it stays manageable for a mixed family group. You should be happy to get wet and to paddle when the guide asks.
Jumps at the falls are optional. Skip them if you are pregnant, unsure or carrying an injury. Everyday fitness is enough, and the guide decides whether the flow that day suits the people who have turned up.
This is the lower-river product, so the pace is aimed at first-timers rather than people looking for Class III. Guides brief at Generalski Stol after the transfer, which keeps the talk next to the actual put-in rather than an hour away.
You finish next to a restaurant in Zvečaj if you want to eat after the paddle, and a Zagreb transfer exists as a separate rate if you do not have a car. The take-out is back at the village, so you change at the same house you left from.
No. This product is the lower Mrežnica, a gentler stretch from Generalski Stol back to Zvečaj, aimed at families and first-timers. The canyon kayak day starts in Primišlje and runs a tighter section with a high optional jump.
If you want your own packraft on the upper river, that is a third product with a twelve-year minimum. Book this one if you want an easier shared-boat day.
Both are used on this stretch depending on the group and the water. The title is rafting and kayaking because the same descent can run in either craft.
You do not need to choose a craft when you book unless the checkout offers a specific rate. The guide assigns boats at the briefing so the group stays together.
Yes. The minimum age is six, and a child should be with a parent or responsible adult. This is the family-oriented Mrežnica day, not the packraft.
Tell us ages when you book. Jumps at the falls are optional and not expected of younger children.
The meeting point is the base house in Zvečaj village, near Duga Resa, postcode 47250. A map pin is on the listing. You then transfer to Generalski Stol for the put-in.
Bring your own car unless you have booked the Zagreb transfer rate. There is space at the base to leave a vehicle while you are on the river.
No. You finish by the restaurant at Zeleni kut and can eat there if you want, but food is not in the trip price. Bring a snack if you prefer not to stop.
Drinking water is your own as well. There is time to change at the end before you drive on.
Plan on about three hours from the 09:40 arrival in Zvečaj to the finish around 13:00. That includes the transfer to Generalski Stol, the briefing and the paddle.
Typical start on the water is about 10:15, which leaves the afternoon free if you want lunch in the village or a drive on towards Karlovac.
Wear shorts or a swimsuit, a T-shirt and a hat, and bring shoes that can get wet, a towel and a dry change. Sun cream, water and a snack are useful on a warm river.
Leave phones dry at the base. Boat, paddle, buoyancy aid and helmet are supplied.
Yes, four guests. If your own party is smaller you may still run if other bookings that day make up the number.
If the minimum is not reached you will be offered another time or a refund. Say how many of you are coming when you book.
A normal shower rarely stops a lower-river day. You were going to get wet at the falls anyway, and the briefing still happens at the put-in.
The trip is only moved when the water or weather is outside what is safe. If that happens you get another date or a refund under the one-day terms.
Eight or more days before, no charge. Two to seven days before, half the booking is charged. One day before or a no-show is charged in full.
If we stop the trip for safety, you are offered another date or a refund under the same one-day terms.
