You'll spend a full day on a quad, riding the Atlantic coast as far as Sidi Kaouki and sitting down for lunch in the village. We leave Diabat after a briefing, follow beaches, dunes and cliff tracks, then eat before the return.
The morning leaves Diabat with helmets on and a few minutes of practice, then you head through forest toward Cap Sim. You spend the middle of the day on wild beaches, big dunes and cliff tracks that follow the Atlantic south.
Sidi Kaouki is a small fishing village on that coast. Lunch is in a typical restaurant there, and meals and drinks at that stop are part of the day. You have time to eat, then you get back on the quad for the return toward Diabat on a mix of sand and forest paths.
Because the guide stays with your party only, you can stop for photos and take lunch when it suits you. Exact tracks still change with tide and wind. Closed shoes and long trousers are worth wearing for the whole outing.
Sidi Kaouki sits on the Atlantic south of Essaouira, past Cap Sim, where the coast opens into beaches, dunes and low cliffs. The village is the midday stop, not a hotel strip, and lunch there is part of the day.
You start from the yard in Diabat, about 3 km from Essaouira, after hotel collection in town. The ride stays on the land and shore between those two points. Pickup covers Essaouira and the city centre; if you are staying further out, you will need to reach Diabat yourselves.
Beginners are welcome, and you do not need a licence. Children from 5 to 11 ride behind an adult on a double quad. From 12 they may drive alone if they are tall enough. Under 18s do not carry a passenger. A driver with a passenger on a double quad must be at least 18.
A full day on sand is not suitable in pregnancy or if you have a back problem. Riders up to 75 are welcome if they are comfortable on a moving machine for several hours. Wear closed shoes and long trousers, and tell us if someone has never ridden so the guide can keep them close at the start.
The same guide stays with you from the briefing through lunch and the return. That continuity matters when the group includes new riders and people who already know sand. Machines are checked and kit is ready before you leave the yard.
French, English and Arabic are spoken at the base, and hotel collection in Essaouira means you are not hunting for the yard on your own. Helmets and windbreakers are waiting at the base, so you only need to arrive in closed shoes and long trousers.
Helmets, a hairnet and a windbreaker go on in the yard before the engines start. The guide covers controls, spacing and the route south toward Sidi Kaouki, then a short practice settles anyone who has not ridden before.
You leave through forest toward Cap Sim, then follow wild beaches, dunes and cliff tracks along the Atlantic. You can stop for photos when the view is worth it, without joining another group.
You stop in the fishing village for a sit-down meal in a small local restaurant. Meals and drinks at this stop are part of the day. After lunch you get back on the quad for the return toward Diabat.
The afternoon uses a mix of shoreline and forest paths back to the yard. Hotel drop-off in Essaouira follows once the machines are parked and kit is handed back.
Hotel collection in Essaouira or near the city centre is part of this day, then the same transfer brings you back after lunch in Sidi Kaouki. Give your hotel name so the driver can find the right door.
The yard in Diabat is still where you brief and collect helmets. If you are staying well outside town, plan to reach Diabat yourselves. Be ready in the pickup window, because the group leaves together once the machines are assigned.
Lunch is taken in a small restaurant in Sidi Kaouki, and meals and drinks at that stop are part of the day. You do not need to carry a picnic for the midday break.
Eat a proper breakfast before pickup if you want more than the ride and the restaurant meal. Say if someone in the party needs a simple plate, and the guide can help at the table. Snacks for the track itself are still yours to bring.
The day runs south from Diabat along beaches, dunes and cliff tracks to the fishing village of Sidi Kaouki. You ride through eucalyptus and mimosa forest, then onto long stretches of open sand with views over the Atlantic.
Exact tracks change with tide and wind. You stop at Sidi Kaouki for lunch, then turn for the forest and shoreline return to Diabat.
Children from 5 may ride as a passenger behind an adult on a double quad. From 12 they can drive their own machine if they reach the controls. Anyone under 18 drives alone, with no passenger on the back.
A full day on sand is a long outing for a young child, even as a passenger. Mention ages when you get in touch. The day is not suitable in pregnancy or for anyone with a back problem, and the usual upper age is 75.
No licence and no previous quad time are required. The briefing in Diabat covers the controls, and your own guide stays out in front for the whole day. You should still be happy on a moving machine over uneven ground for several hours.
Say if you are new so they can keep the first stretch slower. Follow spacing and do not overtake the lead machine. Closed shoes and long trousers matter on a day ride, because you are on the sand for longer.
Closed shoes, long trousers, a light long sleeve and sun protection are the clothing that works on this coast. Helmets, hairnets and windbreakers come from the yard. Flip-flops and shorts leave your legs open to sand and scrub.
Bring a buff if you want extra cover from dust, and a small dry bag for phones. Expect to get sandy before lunch. A spare layer in the transfer vehicle helps if the wind picks up on the cliffs.
Your party keeps its own guide. The team do not mix you with another group, so the pace can match the least experienced rider and you can stop for lunch when you reach the village.
Tell us every person who will ride. If someone only wants to wait in Essaouira, they do not need a machine. Let the team know how many simple and double quads you want so the yard is ready before pickup.
Everyday wind or haze on this coast does not usually stop a day departure. A storm, very high tide or flooded tracks can change the beach line or delay the start. The team will contact you if the day cannot run as planned.
Keep the rest of your plans loose around this day. A later start still needs enough light for the return from Sidi Kaouki. Closed shoes still matter when the sand is damp.
A simple quad is for one rider. A double quad carries an adult driver and one passenger. Pick the option that matches how you want to spend the day.
Children from 5 to 11 use the double quad with an adult. Two adults who both want to drive should take two simple quads. Tell the yard if someone cannot drive, so a double is waiting after the briefing.
Send your Essaouira hotel name and the ages of everyone who will ride, so pickup and the machines are right. Wear closed shoes and long trousers on the day, and be ready in the collection window.
If plans change, let us know as soon as you can so the guide and the restaurant table can move. Keep water and any medicines you need in a small bag that can cope with dust on the transfer.
