You'll spend about six hours in a 2-seater or 4-seater buggy, riding from Diabat to Sidi Kaouki and on to the falls at Sidi M'Barek. Lunch in the village is part of the day, and your own guide stays with you the whole way. The driver must be 18 and hold a licence; younger guests ride as passengers from about 5.
Once the driver has shown a licence, helmets go on and a short practice in the Diabat yard settles anyone new to the machine. You then head through forest toward Cap Sim and the Atlantic beaches, and you spend the middle of the day on dunes, shoreline and cliff tracks.
Sidi Kaouki is the lunch stop. The meal is from the menu in a local restaurant and is part of the day. After that you get back in the buggy and continue south to Sidi M'Barek, where a waterfall and a high dune sit on a quieter stretch of coast.
Your guide stays with your party only, so you can stop at the falls for photos and a look around before you ride back. How close you get to the shore depends on the tide. You return by beach and forest to the yard, then we transfer you back to Essaouira.
The falls sit on a quieter stretch of coast beyond the fishing village of Sidi Kaouki, south of Essaouira. The dune and the water are the afternoon stop, not the start point.
You begin at the Diabat yard, about 3 km from Essaouira, after hotel collection in town. The day links the yard, the village restaurant and the falls. Pickup covers Essaouira and the city centre only.
Whoever takes the wheel must be at least 18 with a valid licence. Passengers from about 5 may sit in the extra seats. No previous buggy time is required, but the driver should be ready for several hours on sand, including a stretch after lunch.
Skip this day in pregnancy or if you have a back problem. The usual upper age is 75. Wear closed shoes. Name the driver before you come, and bring the licence to the yard.
Families can stay in the 4-seater for the whole day, so you are not splitting across two machines. The same guide who checked the licence in Diabat is still with you at the falls, and lunch is already waiting in Sidi Kaouki.
We speak French, English and Arabic at the yard, so the briefing can stay clear before a long day. Helmets are ready for every seat, and hotel collection in Essaouira keeps the morning simple.
The driver shows a licence, helmets go on every seat, and the guide covers the controls and the route south. A short practice in the yard comes before the forest path toward Cap Sim, so anyone new to the machine has a chance to settle.
Forest, Cap Sim, beaches and dunes fill the morning, with stops for photos along the way. You ride as your own party, not as part of a mixed convoy, so the pace can stay with a new driver after the yard briefing.
A meal from the menu in a local Sidi Kaouki restaurant breaks the day. Meals and drinks at this stop are included. This is also the rest before you get back in the buggy and continue south to the falls.
Beyond the village the track continues to Sidi M'Barek, where a waterfall and a high dune sit on a quieter piece of coast. You stop for the view, then return through forest to the yard and your hotel.
The day is about six hours from the Diabat briefing through to the return, including lunch in Sidi Kaouki and the extra stretch to the falls at Sidi M'Barek.
Pickup and drop-off are arranged around that time. A late start at the hotel leaves less time for the falls, because that stop comes after lunch. Keep the whole day free.
Lunch is from the menu at a local restaurant in Sidi Kaouki. It is part of the day. You eat before the run on to the falls, then get back in the buggy for the afternoon.
Say if someone wants a simple plate. Bring water and any snacks you want for the later hours. There is no second restaurant at the falls.
The driver still needs to be 18 with a valid licence. Passengers from about 5 can sit in the extra seats. The 4-seater is the machine that keeps a family in one buggy for the whole day.
There is only one 4-seater, so ask for it as soon as your date is firm. Two-seaters take a pair, whether one or two people sit in it.
The morning follows forest, Cap Sim, beaches and dunes to Sidi Kaouki. After lunch you continue south to Sidi M'Barek, where a waterfall and a high dune sit on a quieter piece of coast.
How close you get to the shore depends on the tide and the wind. Your guide decides the last stretch once you are there. You return by a mix of beach and forest after the stop at the falls.
We'll write back once a buggy and a guide are free for your day. Have the licence ready and send the hotel name.
If the 4-seater is taken, we may offer two-seaters for the same day. Wait for our confirmation before you treat the time as booked.
Closed shoes, a long layer, sun protection and a buff if you want one. Helmets come from the yard. A spare shirt helps after lunch if the wind is up on the cliffs.
Pack a dry bag for phones and any medicine. You will be sandy before and after the restaurant. Do not rely on shops between the village and the falls.
Hotel collection in Essaouira or near the city centre is included, then drop-off after Diabat. Give the hotel name when you get in touch. The yard is still where you brief and show the licence.
If you are staying outside town, you will need to reach Diabat yourselves. Be ready in the window they send, so you still have enough time to reach the falls after lunch.
Wind and haze are usual and often fine. A storm or a very high tide can close the beach line south of Sidi Kaouki. We'll get in touch if the falls cannot be reached safely, and we may turn back after lunch in the village.
Keep other plans loose. Lunch still happens in Sidi Kaouki when the full day runs. Closed shoes matter when the sand is damp.
Your party keeps its own guide. Nobody is added from another group. That means you can stop for lunch and at the falls when you get there, rather than waiting for another party.
Tell us every buggy you need. A pair in a 2-seater and relatives in the 4-seater can run as one party if you say so when you get in touch.
Send the hotel name, who will drive, which buggy you want, and ages of any passengers. Confirm the driver is 18 and holds a licence. Wear closed shoes on the day.
Wait for our confirmation before you treat the morning as booked. If the date has to move, let us know as soon as you can so the machine, guide and restaurant table can shift.
